I am sponsoring both of my parents to immigrate to the US.

When I called NVC today, they told me on 7/15, Guangzhou has approved the expedite requests for both of my parents interview. I requested Aug interview, does that mean they approve interview in August? The customer service can't give me the answer on this.

Also, how long will it take NVC to send my case to Guangzhou? NVC still have some emails yet to be reviewed on both my parents case on the AOS docs, what will happen to those emails? Will NVC review them ASAP then transfer them to Guangzhou or they will just send them to Guangzhou for reviewing?

I am excited about the expedite approval, but also nervous about the interview date and the details.

Anyone has experience in this or know about it?

Thanks a lot.

hmmm.

if you did EP at NVC on this,

then is possible within a month for the interview date.

if you not do EP on this, expect 2 to 5 months.

Did you finish up all the docs and fees with NVC? If no, which ones you not do ?

Yes, both cases are under electronic processing.

I was informed by NVC that both cases have been transferred to Guangzhou electronically on Friday.

Should I contact Guangzhou consulate for interview date?

Yes, I finish up all the docs and fees with NVC. It's just a few emails were not yet reviewed by NVC, now the cases are transferred to Guangzhou.

ok - so stuff needs to be handed in on interview day.

You'll need to inquire with Guangzhou IV for the rest of it, via their email webform thingie. Let me know if you not have the url.

At this stage - Guangzhou will see the incomplete casefile with the expedite request, retrieve it from SAFEFILE (the electronic network used for EP cases at Guangzhou) then start generating a physical casefile. Once the physical casefile is generated, it's shoved over to another queue for scheduling, if the IV fee is already paid.

Whatever electronic documents: forms, evidence, civil docs, that were not added to the casefile at NVC, need to be turned over on interview day.

Your trick, I think, will be to get the IV office to notice the casefiles earlier than usual (which is 2 to 4 weeks in their schedule) and then get on the schedule. If I had to think of wording for your first email webform thingie to GUZ IV - it would read something like this:

----

Dear Sirs - I am writing about two casefiles, GZO20140030 and GZO20140031, my parent's casefiles for their IR-5 visas. Your office approved the expedite request on <insert date here> and I understand that the casefiles were electronically switched over to your office via SAFEFILE. I have paid the AOS and IV fees and I understand that you will need other documents on interview day. I am writing to ask that you follow through with my expedite request, extract the casefile from SAFEFILE, generate a physical casefile, and start your internal processing, getting my parent's casefiles into the scheduling queue as soon as possible.

I am unsure if I will need to self-schedule my parents interview on ustraveldocs.com/cn or no. If no, please furnish an interview letter to <parent's email address> and <your email address> via email.

Thank You ..

Sylvia Wang, Petitioner

Thanks so much, I have inquired Guangzhou IV about both cases, however, I inquired before I see your post.

Here is the reply I got, does this mean they are scheduling the interview date?

Please be kindly advised that you will be contacted soon with detailed instructions on scheduling a visa interview for your parents through the visa application service website http://ustraveldocs.com , which is maintained by our authorized partner.

oops. sounds like a clueless PRC clerk.

in the meantime, go set up 2 accounts (one per casefile) at ustraveldocs.com/cn and drill around a bit, setting up each profile, see if self-schedule is even available. You've a different thing to chase, mostly I not know what to tell you to get on the schedule, except to :

1. ask GUZ IV to schedule them or

2. attempt to self-schedule at ustraveldocs.com/cn
