What does VISA TYPE : CA mean ?

I just received the medical results at " Consultorio de visas" this is where they perform the medical examination for people that applied for immigrant visas in Dominican Republic.

Outside the sealed manila folder there are some biographic information that includes the following statement in Spanish :

TIPO DE VISA: CA ( " Visa type: Ca " would be the English equivalent )

My question is; what does CA mean ? my wife is under category IR-1, Since i am a U.S. citizen and we have been married for over 4 years now. So what does CA abbreviate for ?

Please Help, has anyone in the Dominican republic had this on their medical results ? anyone knows what it means ?

USCIS

03/13/2012: I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox.

03/19/2012: NOA1 Priority date.

03/20/2012: Touched.

06/05/2012: Expedite Requested ( Very Private Reasons ) through service request NSC Number.

06/05/2012: Supporting Documents For Expedite solicited through E-mail.

06/11/2012: Supporting documents For Expedite Sent through fax.

06/18/2012: Expedite Approved.

06/25/2012: NOA2.

NVC

06/28/2012: Case received at NVC.

07/05/2012: Case #, IIN # received. Email DS-3032.

07/11/2012: AOS Invoiced.

07/11/2012: AOS Invoice Paid Online, Marked as: PROCESSING.

07/12/2012: AOS Invoice Payment settled, Marked as: PAID.

07/16/2012: DS-3032 Email Accepted.

07/17/2012: IV Invoiced.

07/17/2012: IV Invoice Paid Online, Marked as: PROCESSING.

07/18/2012: IV Invoice Payment settled, Marked as: PAID.

07/20/2012: AOS & IV mailed priority mail.

07/23/2012: AOS & IV arrived at nvc. ( Reported USPS mail tracking )

07/26/2012: AOS & IV reviewed.

07/30/2012: Case complete.

07/31/2012: Interview date assigned.

U.S. Consulate Santo Domingo

08/15/2012: Medical.

09/27/2012: Interview. >>>>APPROVED<<<<

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Suggestion: Consider calling the clinic where you obtained the test results and asking them what it means.

For all we care, CA may mean 'Consulado Americano', indicating that the documents inside the envelope must follow a certain format and structure, required by the US Consulate. It is possible that this clinic serves other consulates, so they use their own internal code so they know how to put together the whole enchilada.

Point taken and good observation, i called and they tell me it means " Cita Abierta " wich makes no sense since i dont have an open interview date. But whatever, thanks for taking the time to answer.

when you have a CA,(Cita Abierta) it means that that you can go any day for the interview as opposed to them scheduling you for your interview. just make sure that all of the paperwork needed is in order and both you and your spouse must attend the interview.

make sure you get there as early as possible to be able to obtain a spot for the day.
