Hi everyone! :)

So I haven't updated in a while because I didn't have any news. But I do now. I just checked the status of my I-130 for mom and I saw this message:

Post Decision Activity

On February 7, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

So that's pretty wild isn't it? From what I've read on here, this seems unusually fast. Obviously, I'm not complaining by any means, I'm just kind of baffled (shocked I guess). So maybe this means there's a possibility that processing times are changing for the better right?

It couldn't be that I'm misunderstanding this message, could it? This is the step before the NVC right?

I understand that the whole filing process is not complete, but they are saying the I-130 is approved. That would mean it took 35 days, as opposed to 5 months.

Please let me know what you guys think. I'm really happy that this process is moving along so quickly.

Thanks

Ricardo, thanks for the kind words and additional information.

Glad to hear about your good news as well !! :)

The first link you suggested I follow, it didn't take me anywhere. I get this message (There is currently no text in this page. You can search for this page title in other pages, search the related logs, or edit this page.)

The second link to the PDF works fine.

On the USCIS website it said 5 months processing time as well - and most people here have reported that in their response. Let's hope this mean's they are stepping their game up!

So May 2011 sounds good for her to come, she was looking at coming up that time to visit, so if the timeline works out that would be pretty nice :D

Hey why do I need a job letter? I have my W2s and tax returns. At which point would I need to submit a job letter?

So I got the NVC case number and called NVC and gave them and my email address and my mom's email address.

I also asked about form DS-3032 (because I was reading a bit about it online) and he was saying that when they send us paperwork that's when we can send that form. Will they be sending the next set of paperwork to me or to my mom?

Hello. I'm using my cell phone so im limited. The job letter is submitted with all the financial documents. A tax return shows that you worked last year. A job letter says you have an income if you're able to use things like stocks etc.

If you are the Agent of Choice.then the Ds-230 packet will be sent to you and your mom.

Hmm. Agent of choice. I didn't fill out anything to say that I'm the agent of choice. This is why I was concerned about how the form 3032 works. The guy at NVC said that I can't send them anything they would just send it back because they haven't sent the paperwork to me yet. Or something to that effect.

From all the descriptions I read about how stuff is being emailed and sent to NVC it just appears like people are circumventing the process and doing what someone else did...I just get confused reading these instructions I come across sometimes.

Basically I just wanted to know- what should I be doing now? Nothing? Just wait for them to contact me or send me information or request information from me?

I wish it was clearer to me. I keep trying to read more to understand more but I'm ending up confusing myself.
