Hi guys!

The time has now come upon me =) I am one week away from finally moving to the USA! I have my stuff sorted out, my K-1 visa in hand and that big brown envelope with DO NOT OPEN in the worlds smallest letters :P So my question is whats next when i get over there? When i hand in that envelope with all my data in at my POE will they send me a letter of what to do next? We get married July 31st and i know you have to send your marriage certificate away. I know you have 90 days i just dont want to leave it till the last minute, if i can start getting documents ready now that would be a great advantage!

Thanks for your help =)

This is my list. It worked for us. No RFEs. No interview.

Nich's AOS list

And here's the UK AOS Timeline to give you an idea of times, how they vary with probably the workload, who interviewed, who didn't, etc. There are tabs at the bottom for the years 2009 and 2010, however the 2010 participation has been meager.

Nobody will send you a letter. Think of AOS as starting over with a brand new process.

Hah, hopefully you get the Green card with just $1010 more. But then it's some more hundreds to get the conditions removed in 2 years, and another hundreds of dollars for citizenship. Not cheap! :(

Check out the AOS guide here (the G-1145 is a new optional form not on Nich's excellent listing, and we liked it. :)):

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

The short coming there is that you have to click a few places to get all of the forms, whereas Nich's has it all in one view.

And the flowchart (You're about to do step 14, and you need to get through into the 20's!):

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

You can access both of those links through the heading in the blue bar at the top of the page titled Guides.

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.
