Prior to knowing about VJ we hired a company called "Filipina Fiancee Visa Service" to assist us in filing K-1 Visa papers correctly. They seem to be very knowledgeable and always able to answer all our questions in a concise manner. We were just wondering if anyone else has used them and what there experience was like.

How much did it cost you?

$250.00

Good Price.

If they fill out all the forms correctly then I would say that's a fair and good price to pay

Some people spend up to 3K's to file a Visa.

Good Luck......

We hire the "do-it-ourselves visa service". Free of charge. Got my VISA in less that 4 months - smoothly, no hassle at all. All we have to do is read and read and read USCIS guidelines. The guidelines are self-explanatory, from A-Z.

Goodluck.

May 2006 - Medical, Interview, VISA on hand

September 2006 - Set foot prints in the chilly icy JFK, NYC

December 2006 - Civil Wedding

March 2007 - File AOS

June 29, 2007 - Temporary Green Card

I-751

May 30, 2009 - Priority Mail with Confirmation Receipt I-751 Packet

June 1, 2009 - Packed Received by USCIS around 4PM (per USPS Confirmation Delivery Receipt) - now, what's next?

June 2, 2009 - I-797C Receipt Date (Time 21:07....are they operating 24 hours???)

June 3, 2009 - Cashed Check/Bank Cleared

June 4, 2009 - USCIS Postage Date

June 5, 2009 - Local Post Office Receipt date (so, its been sitting on our mail box in house #2 for 5 days...)

I tend to agree with the rest...most guideline are self-explanatory.

While the guideline cover most of the of the normal circumstances...and yes you may sail through without a hassle.

You may encounter special circumstances and that is where the Forum and the people here are of great help and with some good and sound advices.

Good luck...

We filed our K1 and AOS before ever learning about VJ. From my perspective, those were the two most complicated filings. USCIS approved the I-129F petition a week after issuing the receipt notice.

That said, I have a political science degree and am used to reading rules and regulations. Some people just don't have the time or patience for paperwork, so for them, a reputable attorney might be worth the money. I would be wary of other third party services though. Who knows if they're even using the correct form editions.
