Embassy Review : I could not sleep properly the night before, I finally got some sleep by 12midnight,by 3:30am I was up, said my prayers and called my baby, left d house around 4:50am.I did not want to get there late, ikotun to VI is not a small journey. I had arranged all my documents in a folder my fiancé sent to me. It had partitions and I labeled them. I got to the embassy around 5:20am,there were already people waiting,as I found out later some of the were for 6:30am appointment. I paid N100 for the plastic chair and waited,by 6:00am they started calling it was for non immigrant, pls u need to be attentive and close to the area so that you can hear. When they were through with them, they called for 7:00am this was around to 6:30am,they then told us that it is for non immigrant, that immigrant should stand aside, by some mins to 7 they arranged us in a straight file, after u have opened all the envelopes you have. We were told to bring out our appiontment letters, when I presented mine for registration I got the shock of my life, they told me my name was not on the list, I checked it together with the two ladies but did not see my name,I was told to stand aside, fear wanted to grip me,but my faith was strong,I started praying within me,I can not come this far only to go back empty handed, dey attened to two other people, while one of the ladies read my appiontment letter,so they wrote my name and registered me. We filled some forms and they started calling us in fives, I got in made my payments, got inside,u get to submit ur inter. Passport,3 passport photographs, original n photocopy of birth certificate, two copies of DS 156 n 156 k it took a while for my number to be called, and all ur petitioners financial history. I had started getting worried coz I was number 5 and they were even calling number 20 something,I began to pray again, when I was finally called I walked up to the window and gave the woman all my documents, she started to laugh when I brought all my fiancé document because we had everything his affidavit of support, letter of employment, letter from bank,W2's from 2008 till date,IRS transcript from 2008 till date, birth certificate, pay stubs for over 10months ,she then made a joke that your fiancé has really got you prepared,he sent you everything, she then said so it is left for u to prove it, good luck I said thank u and went back to my sit to wait for the interview.

Once they have collected almost everybody's document, the consular officers start interviewing, they don't call according to numbers, they do it randomly,I was thinking since I did not submit my documents early I will not be attended to early,so I relaxed and was listening to other people's interview. There were 3 men interviewing, 1 was white and older and the other 2 were young chaps, though 1 was black,I was already having an inner joy as I did not see the asian lady on sit. The young white guy finished interviewing a child n her mom, when I saw him reviewing my file,I saw my birth certificate and my heart skipped, this was around quarter to nine,I heard my number,I stood up and the following questions ensued
consular : good morning
Me : good morning
He brought out my DS156 form and said I will need to take an oath and sign, I did that, then my finger prints,it took us about 5 attempts to get it as his sys was not capturing it,he kept apologizing and I said no problem and finally he said.

Consular : apart from wanting to be with your fiancé,why do u want to go to the US?
Me :basically we want to be together, get married, start a family, its not being easy staying apart
Consular : I understand
Consular : what kind of relationship do you have with his family?
Me:we have a very nice and cordial relationship, his dad dropped me off this morning
Consular : do u have pictures and how many times has he come since u started dating?
Me : yes, showed him the about 70 pictures we had and explained all,I also told him twice and that I had photocopies of my baby's passport so they can see all the times he came
Consular : no need,we know
He kept typing on his computer at intervals,he stood up, went to d photocopy machine, brought a paper and said go to this address nextweek wednesday to pick up your visa, enjoy your stay in newyork.
It was like a dream come true,he did not ask for phone records, we had records as far back as 2009, he did not ask for emails,we had as far back as 2008. God is faithful. When I checked my time I left the window about 9:15am. We are so happy and thank you all on VJ

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
