Embassy Review : |
Interview at USEMB manila Aug 11, 2011. Im USCitizen and I attended interview with my filipina fiance.
Appt 0645
Arrived at USEM 0615 - Giant lines (thankfully not for K1!) - make sure you tell the guards that you have fiance visa - you cut the line.
USCitizen CAN bring cellphone - i did they keep it for you.
0635 inside embassy already - packed, hot inside stressful air.
0815 finger prints at window
0830 pre-screen interview- strict filipina-no smile.
i dont like her. "if you met in 2007 why wait until 2011 to file K1"... uhh Ill decide when im ready to get married thanks B_tch.
1015 CO interveiw - super nice freindly, bald, white american guy. Very kind to my nervous fiance. Questions you are expecting. "where did you meet, where did he ask you to marry him, whats your plans, how about the parents, prior marriages, etc. 20 minutes talking to us and joking chatting. "Congratulations your visa is approved!"
1115 called to the ToGo window - fill out delivery forms. Long lines.
1145 left embassy and got into the car.
Tips/Lessons: I feel it was very good to attend the interview with my filipina fiance, it made the interview just a formality - but you knew its approved. If you can you should consider it. Be prepared have all your documents and pictures ready, and read the reviews so you know the process. It was very long and tiring and anxious in there even thought I knew we were going to get approved. The process of staring at the board every time they flash a number can make you very anxious after 4 hours! But the USEM staff was professional and mostly nice. Just be thankful to everyone and keep smiling.
Oh by the way - I was studying the faces of all the fiances in there for 5 hours - i didnt see any tears so it seems most people are getting approved if they can get to that point!
Good luck to all!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
