Consulate Review: Bogota, Colombia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 5, 2011
Embassy Review : We arrived at the embassy at 6:30am and there was no one waiting on line 3. We went straight inside and discovered that a lot of people were already inside. There were 2 sections- (1) for Tourist visa and the other for Resident visas such as the K1. The waiting area was outside, but they did have a clear overhead canopy above the resident section and a covered tent like enclosure for the tourist visa applicants. Thank god they had that because the rain decided to come on down. They sold drinks and snacks under the canopy also. It was quite a lengthy process as we had to go up to different windows at least two times before the actual interview occurred. The actual interview took maybe 5 minutes but we did not leave until about 3:45 pm, but thank god we were able to leave with a gigantic smile. Bring an umbrella just in case and also a warm jacket as it may be cold, rainy day. Overall though for us while it was tiring it wasn't a bad experience.
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
