Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : Miami
POE Date : 2011-10-02
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : Relatively easy entry, however took awhile. I'd recommend anyone coming in makes their connections in Foreign countries rather in the US or get a direct flight. Connections would be difficult to make, as you have to clear this step prior to connecting to domestic flights.

Consulate Review: Argentina
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : September 10, 2011
Embassy Review : Well to start we had some difficulties. Make sure if you havent filed your initial packet in the US. Make sure you use a super reliable email account and if you email the embassy put some other emails in the CC field. We got backed up because they dont mail the packet 3 in Argentina, they email it. Apparently the department of state's servers dont like my company's (major US corporation) servers and I didnt get the packet. It took a couple of months to end up finding this out, calls to congress persons, etc. Not quick.

Next when you do, load up your packet with tons of relationship proof. Unless your packet shows you glaringly do not meet requirements ex. financially what they really want to see is that its not a sham relationship. I sent like 15-20 pics on the US petition side and my fiancee another 20-30 in packet 3, this along with letters, cards, envelope postmarks, boarding passes, passport copies, etc. By the time we arrived with more pics, and a hardbound picture book I made her for our 1st anniversary together, they didnt even look at them. They only asked 2 questions.

Q1: Where and how did you meet.
Q2: When did your relationship (romantically) begin.

After this the interviewer said 'After hearing your answers to these questions, and my review of your packet I have no doubt that your relationship is real. Congratulations I'm approving your visa welcome to the United States.'

Our interviewer was the german one. She was nice, but very business and serious when she asked the questions. Once she decided she was granting our visa it was much less serious persona.

If I can give the biggest recommendation. Just follow packet 3 to the letter. And for Godsakes, they say prefer to see many pictures of the two together in various stages in their relationship. Spend the extra bucks, and stuff the packet full of your pictures, correspondence, and things that show you spend much time together. They love it there.

The process is about 1 hour in length. For us we arrived at 1:50P. We were immediately let in after getting the entrance cards from the visa window. We were first directed to the fingerprints window. Then we were given a folder to arrange all the documents they instruct you to bring to the interview in the order they want. Then you meet with someone who reviews what you brought to make sure it is all there. Then you'll wait for the interview. The consulate was packed that day for non-immigrant visas too so it was busy but we still were out in just over an hour. Lastly at this time the US citizen is still permitted not only in the embassy, but also allowed to be in and participate in the interview. When we were asked our two questions, she looked at either of us to answer, I let my fiancee answer to let her be less nervous, but I could have answered too.

We are super excited for her to get here and begin the rest of our lives together. I hope this review helps others in my situation the same way as these reviews and this forum helped us!

Bring on the Miami USCIS office! Green Card here we come!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
