Embassy Review : Interviewed completed and approved! I have read many different reviews and I will make some comments on our interview. Our interview was Oct 7,2010. We were one of the first couples on the new system. There are some flaws in the new system still. One, you have to pay in CASH, no credit cards even though the new letter states you can. There is an ATM in the same building but you will have to go out and recheck with the security. The other main issue was that even though the letter does not say you have to bring the DS-156, you should bring it, we were asked for it. Also, we were told that no cell phones and large bags were allowed, however, there were so many individuals with large bags and purses and one lady had a phone and they made her turn it off. We did not take anything in but we just wanted to report to you all what we saw.

The rest of the process went well with the new process. We had an 8:30 am appt and we were there at 8:00 am, only two couples in front of us. We went through the secuirty check and proceeded upstairs to the consulate. The security gaurds were nice people. Once we received our number, we waited and were then called to a window and provided documents that was asked by the officer. My finacee was finger printed and we were told to wait again. Then, the final interview happened, it was actually fun and easy. the officer was a blonde female that was very very nice. She asked my fiancee how we met and how we got engaged. The funny part was that I started telling the whole story and the Officer was laughing so hard and said this is so good of a story she could not believe it and laughed and then said APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!
My advice to all: be prepared with all documents in the event they ask you for anything, relax and be friendly! It took time but was not stressful at all.
Good luck!
