POE Review: Toronto
Event Description
Entry Date : 2010-12-11
Embassy Review : My girlfriend was horrendously harrassed every time she went through. She experienced terrible humiliation. The last time she came was for Christmas and they let her through without hesitation. However, the harassment was so great that I was partially motivated to propose to her on her last visit, and she accepted. Ironically, their accusations and harassment led to her immigrating here.
Harassment Level : High

Embassy Review : I thought I had done this already!

I found the process confusing. Certainly, I once again felt an attorney was an unnecessary expense, as is the consensus of this site.

The interviewer tried his best intimidation and interrogation techniques. It was very awkward due to the fact I, the US citizen, had murky living arrangements for a couple of years. The officer really zeroed in on that, and caused us great calamity, with my wife sure that we had failed.

But in fact, our paperwork was approved so fast, we were caught off guard by the speed with which it all happened.

Whew.

Be strong, be honest and take a ton of evidence with you that you're really together.
Harassment Level : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
