Comments : To explain the lull from NOA2 to sending out packet 3 was due to family health issues and then christmas, ny and cyclones. We would have sent everything sooner but wanted the storm (so to speak) to pass before moving further. Everything and everyone is great. :).

Consulate Review: Sydney, Australia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 30, 2011
Embassy Review : My appointment was for 8am but due to nerves and insomnia i decided to head the consulat earlier and wait. In the end it paid off as i was out by 8:45am. The times was taken up due to the ticket machine not working and waiting. The interview itself took 5 mins.

Questions asked were

"When did you meet your fiance?"
"What were the circumstance on how you met"
"How many times have you been to America"
"When was the last time you were in America"
How many times has your boyfriend been to Australia"
"Where does he work"

At this point i told her that he was a security officer on base and she commented that she had been to that base for a wedding and we had a general discussion on the PX on base for a minute after which she told me I was approved.

She then handed me back a stack of papers and here is where it gets interestin. In those papers was my passport which i asked if she needed and i was told no. Imagine my surprise when i get a call from the US Embassy this morning requesting back my passport. The fun never ends!!! All seems easily fixed i sent it off today and my visa should be processed within the next couple of days and in my hot little hand next week. Not heading over until June so i'm not too worried.

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
