Consulate Review: Naples, Italy
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 4, 2010
Embassy Review : I went to Naples on Sept. 13. My interview was for Sept the 15. Therefore my medical was on the 14th of Sept. When I arrived to the ISTITUTO VARELLI I gave my passport to the lady and she said to wait in the yellow chairs. After I waited for 40 mins I got called to take my blood. After teh blood was taken I went to an other room where the doctor checked my vacc. list and he told me that I was going to need to get two shots. I had to pay for the visit and the two shots in that room. In total it was about 215 euros. Then I had to wait again for about 15 mins. then I had to get my xray on my chest. After that I waited again for 110 mins. After that I went to another room where there was another doctor who asked my some questions, then get a general check up with my weight and height then finally I got the two shots I needed. Then I left and headed to the cosulate to get my fingerprints taken. I waited there for about an hour. They asked my for a photo and likely I had one on me. >>> so just bring one just in case<<<< After the fingerprints I left the consulte and when back to my hotel.
The next day. I woke up at 6 am. I checked all my forms to make sure I did not forget anything. I got to the consulate around 8 and I was the number 5. I had to wait for 45 min. then I got called by a lady at the window, there I gave my forms, photo, reciept of the bank and then she said I had to pay another 172 euro ot 110 dollars for consulate fees. (I was not aware of this fee) After I paid the fees I came back to the window and gave her the reciept, the lady was very nice. The lady told me to sit and wait again. After 1 hour and 30 mins of waiting I was called back to talk with the consulate officer. The man was very nice and asked my only a few questions. After he told me I was approved and told me to go and pick up my passport at 5 oclock at the MBE. I went to the MBE at 4:15 pm and waited til 5. At 5 the man at the desk said that my passport was not ready. He said that my passport will be sent to my house with DHL. After 8 long and stressful days of waiting. My passport was finally in my hands.
DO NOT STRESS yourself. Everything will be fine and work out.

Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
