We are really here. Waiting for the letter that tells us the date of the Oath Ceremony. My husband went into the interview alone because he said having me there would have made him nervous. When he came out he told me that the immigration official said that his application was the cleanest she had ever seen. It was nice that someone appreciated all the dotting of the "i"s and crossing of the "t"s that went into our application! I cannot say that this process has been easy, but we haven't had any real hitches during the process and now so grateful that our visa journey is coming to an end!
Update: We had the oath ceremony on January 31st, 2015. After 4 years of waiting and paperwork, my husband is finally an American. We also found out the same week that we are expecting our 1st child due in September. Our journey with U.S. Immigration is at an end. |

Embassy Review : |
My fiancé had his interview on Thursday, October 28th. He said that it went well. The consular officer asked about our age difference (9 years. I am older) and why at 36 I had never been married. He told them that I had never found true love and then added "so much the better for me". That relaxed the atmosphere.
However, there was a kink. On the online electronic document that you fill out in triplicate I had marked that I was married. Didn't even catch it the 100 times I looked it over. It is only a hiccup, but I had to send a letter attesting that I had never been married before.
Other than the long wait time, his experience at the embassy went well. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
