Local US CIS Office Review: Harlingen TX
Review Topic: cis_topic
Event Description
Review Date : June 19, 2011
Embassy Review : I have noticed that there are few people who submitted a review regarding their experience at the Harlingen CIS office. But of course, I am happy to share with you guys how our interview went by.
Our scheduled interview is at 9:40 am, me and my husband arrived there at around 9:15am.
Before entering the building, of course the security guards asked for the appointment letter, and we went through the security check (which is like the one they use in the airport/embassy).
After that, another guard pointed us the waiting room for the AOS applicants.
There were a few people sitting there waiting for their turn to be interviewed as well.
My name was called at 9:50am. It was a lady who interviewed us. She ushered us to her office, and then let us "swear" to tell the truth and nothing but the truth spiel. After that, she let us sat down, and she took "my folder" (which is really think by this time, and i can see the old documents that my hubby submitted for the i-129f.) She asked me first regarding my medical, that she thinks it was incomplete because i did not have a ppd test/tb skin test taken when i had my medical. So,i explained to her that i am a k1 visa holder, and my medical that was taken in the Philippines is valid for a year,as what I have been told. (but honestly,i found out that info here in vj..) lol! )
Then she told us that they do not have much k1 cases here in the valley so she is unsure if she will ask me to have a tb skin testing again.
After that, she just asked me to verify the information that I have submitted with the i-485 form. And then, she left us for a few minutes to consult her supervisor regarding my medical. When she came back, she told us that i do not need to have tb skin testing again.
And then, she said that everything is fine, and she made some conversation, asking me if i like it here in the valley, and all that kind of stuffs.
After that, she wrote something in my passport and removed my i-94, and handed it back to me.
After I signed a paper, she explained that i have to process the ROC few months before my gc expires and that I can apply for citizenship after 3 years.
Then that's it!
My AOS interview was done, and my GC has been approved.
It took us, 10 minutes.
So,i can say that i have a very good experience for my AOS interview!
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
