Event Date
Port of Entry : Fort Lauderdale
POE Date : 2011-06-19
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : Once done with the wait at the visitor's queue the wife and I handed over her packet to the immigration officer, he took her photo & prints, and were walked to waiting room just a few meters away from the lines. Just 10 minutes or so of paper shuffling, a signature, inked fingerprint, a stamp in the passport w/ her new Alien number and we were off to bag claim/customs.

Consulate Review: Peru
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 7, 2011
Embassy Review : Although it was disappointing that interview our interview was scheduled for more than two months in advance (in late March for May 30th) we found the experience at this embassy professional and uneventful. 8am appointment - arrived at 7:30 and took nearly 30 minutes to process into the building. Our interview was complete and we were out the door some 40 minutes later. Most questions for my Peruvian wife (who had previously held a 10-year tourist visa) were with regards to any overstays she might have had (she did not) and how long we'd been with each other full-time (years, in our case). Me having my Peruvian residency certainly helped and quickly ended that line of questioning. Our interviewer from Atlanta was more interested in how we reacted to the cursory questions than to the answers themselves. A good experience after dealing with the morons over at the NVC.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
