Event Date
Port of Entry : Detroit
POE Date : 2010-06-13
Got EAD Stamp :
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : The officer just mentioned 2 things:
1)You're on K-1 and therefore have to get married within 90 days
2)Once you are married and your I-94 expires you need to leave the country & wait for your green card back home.

On the second allegation, I replied:
"Officer, I was actually advised my the American Embassy NOT to leave the US till I receive my GC."
He replied: "I know my job, I do this every day."
Me:"OK officer, thanks, have a great day."
OBVIOUSLY, I did NOT HAVE to leave the country, duh!!!!

Consulate Review: France
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 3, 2010
Embassy Review : I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment, stood in the security line in the sun with a dozen people, I was last in line (I am assuming that EVERYONE is asked to show up at 1pm), picked up a ticket once inside, and waited for half an hour to be called at the first counter to show my invitation letter.
After 1 hour, I was called to the following booth, where I was asked for all the documents. The lady remembered that my husband kept calling her on the phone with questions about the procedure... About 1 hour later again, I was finally called by the consul who mentioned she had read ALL our email correspondence, etc... which was kind of embarrassing, but she was nice at all times, and tried to mention her personal travel experience/work experience abroad, as she had read where we had both planned to go travel.
She then said she'd put it a word for the immigration officer at the POE, which got me to think at that point that it was approved.
However, very professionally, she did not really give me a clear answer when I asked HOW LONG it would take, etc... she said 1 week to 10 days... It actually only took 1 week for me to receive passport and visa, but the visa had been approved, 3 days after the interview...
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
