Got an RFE for Vaccination proof. I had to get a full Civil Surgeon Medical Exam for $120 again, even though it had been less than 9 months since Cathy got her pre-interview exam in GUZ. When I filed the I-485, a USCIS Officer told me (with great authority) over the phone that I only needed ANY physician to sign Part 6 of the I-693 form and not the Part 5 Civil Surgeon certification. The folks at Lees Summit MO obviously did not agree and RFE's me. It is nearly impossible to get a Civil Surgeon to sign-off on the I-693 without doing a full physical at full price and our personal health insurance can't be used to pay for Civil Surgeon exams. |

Received an "EAD/Advance Parole Combo Card" which has both in one card.
We had to file a RFE (for Vaccination verification) which apparently delayed the EAD and Parole card too. We waited the 60 days before contacting our US Congressman's Aide to ask for help - she made an inquiry on our behalf and 'miraculously' the EAD/Advance Parole Combo Card was approved the next day! |

K1 visa delayed 84 days SOLELY due to Cathy’s admission she was still a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) which resulted in Administrative/ Additional/Further Processing. She works for the local party office but her membership is/was ‘non-meaningful’ and of a ‘rank-and-file’ nature with ‘no ideological commitment’. I knew there was no reason for denial and the visa would eventually be approved but the uncertainty of how long the wait would be was excruciating!
The VO had no problems with the relationship being bona-fide, my finacial condition and other requirements. It was just the CCP membership that caused the delay. All they wanted was for her to fax a 'detailed resume' listing her education, jobs and any publications written. After that, nothing. I had my Congressman's office make an official inquiry but I don't know if that made anything move faster. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
