Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : May 1, 2012
Embassy Review : My interview was done last April 27, 2012. At exactly 4:40 a.m dumating po kami sa Embassy (Me and Yahm Diamond) and wow marami ng nakapila sa labas. At exactly 6:00 o\'clock pina forward kami ng guard close to the entrance gate ng embassy. From there we prepared the following :

1. Appointment Letter
2. DS forms ( 2 copies of DS 156 and DS 157 then 1 copy of DS 156 K)
3. Passport
From there nilagyan ng sticker ang likod ng passport at tatanungin ka kung ano ang binigay ng St. Lukes sa iyo CD ba or envelope; mine was CD then binalik yung appointment letter, ds forms and passport. Then pumasok na kami sa loob there are 3 booth. I was on booth # 2 and I handed them the above 3 documents (there are few questions personal info lang) and gave me Q.N and my lucky number was 6039.
After that I went inside, door 3 doon ako naghihintay may mga upoan din sila so relaxing naman pero kinakabahan din . After 40 minutes may number flashed on the queuing board, it was window 40 for fingerscanning, the american girl will just asked your name and birthday then when it\'s done balik na naman sa upuan.

Taking a deep deep breath.... after 30 minutes my number flashed again on the queuing board sa window 57 ako and it\'s my turn for the Pre screener. When I was there I greeted him and greeted me back while he was talking to his companion inside. Then finally (infairness gwapo niya laging naka smile!) he asked my name and asked my BPI receipt and after that he let me sign the DS-156K and wrote the name of my fiance. He asked the following documents from me.

1. B.C
2.NBI clearance
3. CEMAR/CENOMAR - mine was cemar because I was previously married
4. Divorce Decree
Then he started asking me questions like why am I Divorce and I explain it to him then he asked me if I have been to another country, he also asked me if I have my Marriage certificate from my ex then I explain it to him that I don\'t have it anymore and he said ok. He asked my fiance\'s name, how do we meet and where. how long do we know each other and when was it. When was the last time I saw him
5. He asked for my fiance\'s AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT and I handed him the I-134 then he asked for the ITR. I handed him everything (tax extension for 2011, 1040, 1099 , pay stubs, bank statements) wow he only took my 1040 and 1099 and returned the rest. Then he asked me about a proof of our relationship then i handed him our pictures, chat/call logs, engagement ring receipt, my fiance\'s stamp in the airport, money remittances and oh! he only took the pictures ( scrapbook) and the rest he gave it back to me and he never looked on it ( smiling) and I noticed that all answers given sinusulat niya. Then he handed me back the pictures and said to show it to the final screener. Sabi niya maupo ka muna hintayin mo ulit mag flash ang number mo sa Q.B sabay smile ang cute niya hehehhe. Sabi ko thank you sir then bumalik na ako sa upoan.

While waiting, I expect that the final screener will have to asked a lot of documents from me. After 35 minutes nag flash ulit ung number ko and sa window 62 ako american girl ang nandun super bait nakasmile lang siya and he greeted me and response her back. She told me to raise my right hand and swear (oath) that all of the informations that I have are true and correct. She asked my name and DOB and asked the name of my fiance, does my fiance have kids, is he married before, how do we met, how many times he come here and what he do for a living. She was very nice and she never asked any supporting documents from me. Yung kinuha ng pre screener yun lang ang pinagkunan niya ng questions and tanong niya rin if saan ako Divorce sabi ko sa US.
She then asked me if I am aware that we need to get married within 90 days then I said yes. Sabi niya Good!

Congratulations your visa is approved! Welcome to America!!!! As in alam niyo ba ang feeling na expect mo parang madeny ka? ako yun taz nilapit ko talaga ang mukha ko sa window sabay sabi Mam are you serious my visa is approved? She said yes!!! Congratulations on your wedding!!! Gusto ko sana tumalon pero naalala ko maraming nakaupo sa likod... Sabi ko thank you Mam have a great day sabi niya your welcome... She told me to wait until my number flash again para sa delivery ng visa.

Parang natagalan feeling ko 221g ako then after 45 minutes nagflash ulit doon sa window 73. magkasunod kami ni yahm diamond and nagbubulungan kami.

God is Good!!! Nakakatuwa ang Interview ko and it\'s true Patience is a Virtue.... Sa lahat ng magpa interview pa huwag masyadong kabahan. I know it\'s normal pero if nandoon kana mawawala yun...

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE AND THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED ME THROUGH THIS!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
