Local US CIS Office Review: Sacramento CA Review Topic: cis_topic Event Description Review Date : June 17, 2011 Embassy Review : My wife(applicant) and I(USC sponsor) had a very easy experience with the Sacramento office. We arrived about a half hour early however it was unnecessary. The agents are assigned a schedule of interviews each lasting a half hour so everyone is at the mercy of the prior interviews. I think parking at the downtown plaza mall would have been the easiest. At the door of the office building is a metal detector/security check. They will not allow any phone that has a camera so just leave it in your car. The only odd thing was that once we arrive in the proper office on the second floor, the check-in desk appeared closed (the blinds were down over the window). In the window was a little not say "drop interview notices in the tray and please wait". It was likely that most people didn't notice the sign because once I place my notice (in the empty tray) about half the room came up and did the same. It felt odd abandoning the precious document we have held so important. Sure enough in about 10 mins a person on the inside grabbed the stack. Five minutes later the called my wife's name and the agent took us to another waiting room. She told us that we had to wait for the interview ahead of us. We were called back to the interview almost exactly on time. The female agent was direct and professional. She checked our IDs and made us take an oath to tell the truth. She then made my wife verbally answer most (if not all) of the I-485 entries. She checked off each field on our original I-485 as she did it. She asked to see my wife's visa in her passport (once again just to validate the entries in the I-485). Then she asked my wife where/how we met. She took some notes and dates and that was all. She seemed a bit surprised that it would both our first marriages. She started to explain that the green card would arrive in about a week and it would be a conditional green card. She explained the need to keep evidence and apply for the removal of condition in the appropriate time. (She didn't know that I had alot of evidence already with us). The agent's demeanor shifted to be alot more jovial and she asked us about the wedding and even looked at some of the photos. (She asked to keep a few for the record). We even chat a bit about her job. In the end it only took 15 mins. I truly got the impression that she wanted to approve people however she has to validate a fixed number of points. Our case was fairly simple and straight forward so this maybe why it was so easy. I was very prepared however nothing was really needed. :-) About an hour later we got the text and email for USCIS saying "Card in production" Harassment Level : Very Good
