Consulate Review: Ukraine
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 29, 2009
Embassy Review : Very easy process. Showed up at 8:30am. There were several people waiting for tourist visas in line. I showed the guard my US passport and he waived us to the front of the line. Insisde they put us through the metal detectors and searched our things. You are only allowed a cell phone and your documents inside. Once inside we were sent to an area for immigrant visa which was nice because we did not need to wait with all the people wanting tourist visas. We turned in our documents at the window and took a seat. Katya was fingerprinted. We waited 2 hours and were called to the window. I was asked to show my passport and thanked for coming. The interview lasted 5 minutes. She was asked about my family, job, address and if she was associated with any marriage agencies. She was asked if she studied english and if we intended to be married in 90 days. That was it. We recieved a pink slip and proceeded to the Fedex tent to pay for delivery of visa. The visa arrived 2 days later. There were 4 couples there when we were there. We were the only ones immediately approved. Everyone else had document problems. I encourage everyone to triple check all documents before you enter the embassy.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
