Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : Los Angeles
POE Date : 2010-01-30
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : No problems getting through immigration. The official opened my pack, looked through it and stamped me in. However, after filing the AOS I received an RFE indicating that USCIS had not received my DS-2053 (medical exam, which was in the pack), so get a copy of the medical exam and submit that with the I-485 just in case (it's probably a good idea to get the vacinations transcribed to the I-693 also, just in case -- see the forum threads for civil surgeons willing to do this for $25, as there's a tendency for them to try to charge for the full medical).

Comments : Very slow! Took 7 months. Got USCIS to place a service request on 2010-09-02 which may have sped up the last bit. Seems like February was a particularly congested month for AOS filers, but we got it without any major hassles (just an RFE for the medical, easily transcribed for $20), so we're very happy :)

Consulate Review: Sydney, Australia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 3, 2010
Embassy Review : The Sydney consulate is excellent. They are very efficient and responded to each of my emails. It took only 2 weeks for them to schedule the interview after sending in Packet 3. My interview took around 2 hours from entry to exit and they approved my K-1 on the spot.
Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Los Angeles
Event Description
Entry Date : 2010-01-30
Embassy Review : No problems getting through LAX immigration. Several flights landed at the same time so the wait to get to an official was around 1 hour. Once I got to the official, he opened my K-1 pack, looked through everything and stamped me in to the country. It took maybe 10 minutes.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
