The appointment was at 7am and we arrived at 620am. There were two lines and we were directed to the one closest to the embassy entrance. We waited about 20 mins before being called in and going through security.
From here, we had to walk through a courtyard, where we were able to put our belts back on that we were required to remove during the security check. We entered a differen building where we were checked in with others and were directed to one of two areas. The area to the left appeared to be for those looking visitor visas and the area to the right, where we were sent after being assigned a number, seemed to hold those who had someone filng for them.
After about 20 minutes our number was called and they took my husband's fingerprints and confirmed that they had everything that was sent from NVC. We sat back down and soon afterward everyone else had been called to do the same.
About 45 minutes later,they started calling people for th 2nd time, that had prevously gone up for fingerprints. So far, the first 3 sets of people get blue slips. When our number was called for the 2nd time, we were sworn in and a the man who was conducting the interview asked who was the applicants, and then asked my husband "who is this woman beside you?" He told him my wife, and then the man asked me to take a seat, then proceeded to interview my husband.

The man asking the questions then asked to see phone bills, photoraphs, and the Western Union receipts. We actually had a big leather bag with our wedding album and a regular photo album that had well over 400 pics total - my husband was simply asked to hold up each and flip through a few pages. We had over a years worth of phonebills/records, so my husbnad slipped a bunch of them under the window with the Western Union receipts and the man was satisfied.
Finally the man asked for my husband's passport told us to go to a far window to pay for the DHL pack. I was never called up to answer any questions...I guess the huge bag of evidence said it all!  |
