everyone at guayaquil consulate was extremely nice. Although we were prepared with lots of proof-04-08 taxes, w-2s, emails , phone bills, airline ticket stubs, and 5 yrs worth of photos--they only asked for 08 taxes and a few photos and then only asked her 1 question--How long have the two of you been together? then they told us visa was approved! Everyone we came in contact was very nice----we even called 3 days later from quito to check on status of when visa would be delivered DHL and talked to a nice man in the immigrant visa section who took time to look up our case in computer--said it would be picked up tomorrow-jun2 and be delivered to quito the next day--HOUSTON, here we come!! |

WE ARRIVED AT 7am FOR AN 8:30 APPT, THERE WERE TWO LINES-NON IMMIGRANT AND IMMIGRANT, WE WERE NOT SURE WHICH ONE TO STAND IN, SO WE CHOSE THE NON-IMMIG BECAUSE THAT IS THE SECTION THAT THE K VISA IS LISTED IN ON THE US EMB GUAY WEBSITE--HOWEVER WHEN WE ASKED THE EMBASSY WORKER, HE TOLD US TO MOVE TO THE IMMIGRANT LINE AND HE LET US MOVE TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE!!HE WAS VERY NICE. ANOTHER WORKER TOLD US THAT WE HAD TO LEAVE THE BAG HOLDING ALL OUR PROOF OUTSIDE OF THE EMBASSY(WE HAD A LOT OF PROOF)-SHE WAS NICE AS WELL IN TELLING US THIS--SHE EVEN APOLOGIZED TO US----THEN WE WENT IN AND WENT STRAIGHT TO WINDOW 5 AND WAITED ABOUT 2 MINUTES AND THE EMBASSY WORKER ASKED US TO TELL OUR NAME SO HE COULD EXPEDITE OUR CASE. THEN WE WAITED 30 MINUTES AND A WOMAN AT WINDOW 5 CALLED US AND ASKED FOR OUR PROOF--ONLY 08 TAXES , PICTURES AND THE MEDICAL RESULTS AND IT WAS AT THIS TIME THAT THE WOMAN ASKED HOW LONG WE HAVE BEEN TOGETHER(WE DID NOT EVEN REALIZE THAT THIS WOULD BE OUR ONLY QUESTION!!!(INTERVIEW)---THAT WAS IT--THEN WE WAITED 30 MORE MINUTES AND WE WERE CALLED TO WINDOW 10 FOR HER FINGERPRINTS--THEN WE WAITED 20 MINUTES AND WERE CALLED TO WINDOW 1 AND WERE TOLD THAT WE WERE APPROVED!!SHE TOLD US TO GO TO DHL (2 BLOCKS AWAY) AND PAY THEM AND GIVE OUR ADDRESS IN QUITO!!ALL IN ALL EVERYONE ---EVERYONE WAS VERY NICE AND ACCOMODATING--VERY LOW STRESS EXPERIENCE---HOUSTON HERE WE COME!!!! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
