Event Description

Embassy Review : He had his interview on 05/26/08. Waited four hours at the Embassy to have his interview. He stated that the gentleman who interviewed him was very courteous. He was asked to submit the affidavit of support as well as my 2008 tax returns. I included a 1099 and my w2 with the affidavit. My income was sufficient and they did not ask for further supporting evidence such as check stubs, bank statements or a letter from an employer. He was also asked to submit some evidence that we were still in touch after the petition was approved (In this case a few e-mails and 3 months of phone bills were sufficient) He was not asked for pictures, visa stamps, airline stubs etc (But i sent it just in case). He was asked why he did visit the USA again on a visitors visa after I applied. My man simply told him that we didn't want to risk applying and getting denied. He was told by the officer that they are A LOT LESS SCRUPULOUS now when it comes to Russians obtaining a visitors visa, so THERE is some good news for those who are curious.

Someone has submitted a review a while back that stated they believed the officers have already made their decision before you even go up to the window. When I first read that it was useful to know and helped a bit with the anxiety of the whole thing. He was APPROVED after 5-10 mins of conversation and the officer even stated he was impressed with the size of supporting evidence I sent along with the petition. I would like to agree with that persons statement and pay it forward. So to those who are starting. FLOOD THEM WITH EVIDENCE when you initially file for the K1. After K1 is approved, sit back and relax a bit. As long as you have all your ducks in a row.... All is NOT nearly as bad as my head made it out to be. Good luck and best wishes to all!!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
