Consulate Review: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 1, 2010
Embassy Review : We’ve only got the Package 4 a week before the interview so we were scrambling to get the medical schedule and completed for the interview. The medical exam was longer for us than I expected. We went in the first day for the exam (x-ray, blood test, full body checkup), but have to come back at 6:30am every day for the next 3 days for sputum sample/test. In fact, my fiance has to go to ChoRay in the early morning before the interview to have her last sample taken. We were anxious but the nurse told us we could go to the interview and have the medical result submitted later.
Before the interview, we knew we would get blue awaiting the medical results, but were surprised when she came out with also a request for the timeline.
She did submit the timeline before the interview. However, after the interview, they gave it back with the blue sheet asking again for the timeline. I did expect to get blue for the medical but not the timeline. I was disappointed but not upset, since I know I still have to wait for the medical. I don’t know why they would not take the timeline right there and made us bring it back later though. I thought it may be wise for them to take it and still give us blue for the medical, while taking their time to review our timeline for more details. That would make me happy...

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
