Consulate Review: Juarez, Mexico
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 26, 2009
Embassy Review : On Jan 5th Troy received a letter from NVC. They sent the new case number from Juarez Consulate. We waited to receive package 3 more than a month but nothing, so we called to Juarez consulate and they said that the package had been sent on Jan 31th. And they also said that I could go to Juarez and ask for the open appointment letter that I was only missing. So my daughter and I travel to Juarez on Monday and stayed at Holly day Inn Express located in Paseo del Triunfo Av.
Tuesday Morning (6:50) we went to the Consulate and asked for the open appointment letter...it was very simple I just explained to him my situation and showed my case number and he print it again.
After getting the letter my daughter and I went to the Medical exam. The Clinic is next to the Consulate. We arrive there at 9:15 and started with the test. First blood (only for me) later the doctor (only women check women) later the physicals for me and for my daughter ...very fast.. later X rays (again only for me). I have to note that this is a new clinic and everything is well organized they are very professionals and the they have small rooms for the physical exam so do not feel because u have to be naked. The last step is the TB test for kids also very fast. These are all the requirements for the medical exam. We went back at 2 pm for my results and had to go back Friday morning (11 am) to check my daughter arm (because of her test). and went back again at 2 pm to pick her results.
A good advise i can give...don't worry about the line at the moment u need to pick the results up, because they r going to call people and give them according to their organization, no according the line just tr to be puctual

Next Monday we arrived at the Consulate few minutes before 8 am and showed our passports, open appointment letter and the payments before enter. they gave me a number and had to wait for a while.
They asked first for the DS-156 forms, and other papers like birth certificates, divorce certificates (mine and Troy's)...do not forget copies !!!
after this had to wait a little more and then they called again for my finger prints. Wait again and finally had the interview..
I had a little problems with my divorce certificate that is why we were very close to not be approved... but at the end everything was ok so we got it
After this u have to go at the DHL window.. it is in the same area and they are going to explain u how u r going to receive a package from consulate wich will include your visa already approved...Don't worry if the consul will keep your passport, it means u will get your visa soon.
So everything was pretty fast (considering hundred of people there) and we left consulate at 11 am.
DHL will receive the package 1 or 3 days after the interview so be patient. Fortunately for us we received it Tuesday afternoon. with instructions and the folder u need to present at the border (this will show the specific bridge u have to use to cross the border if u are going to leave from Juarez).
So finally we are together and we r ready for the next step ..OUR WEDDING!!!
Hope good luck for all of you.

Event Description

Embassy Review : Today I got my appointment. It was a little peculiar because originally It was only my daughter's appointment (my appointment was scheduled up to June 7th).
We arrived few minutes before 10:30. Showed IDS and the letter to the security security guy after arriving.
We waited about 30 min until a nice lady called her name. She was a little confused because we just presented one letter and she asked about mine.
I explained to her that this was also very strange for us, because we were expecting our interviews at the same time. and I showed her my appointment letter scheduled on June.
Anyway, she had to talk to her supervisor in order to consider the interview for both of us. Lucky for us they accepted. And here are the steps we followed at the interview.
1. Showed ID (mine, husband and daughter's)
2. Showed I-94 (she took them)
3. needed to swear we were telling the truth
4. confirmed DOF (mine and my husband's)
5. she asked me my address, phone number and SSN (i didn't remember this and I showed it to her)
6. how do we met?
7. she asked for evidence. Nothing in particular actually. She just asked to see the paperwork we had prepared, so I showed bank accounts, car insurance, health and dental insurance, rental agreement, pictures, etc...
she didn't pay to much attention on them just she asked to kept some of them for the records.
8. And after this she said that she could not approve my case yet because my file was still not there, so after asking for it and reviewing it again they will approve it formally. But my daughter case was approved.

Everything was very simple and the people was very kind and professional.

Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
