Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : Easiest and quickest 40 minutes. It seemed to be the officer's first time processing a K-1 visa but the other officer assisting was quite helpful. They were all very nice at 3am in the morning. No issues with my car or items in the U-haul.

Consulate Review: Montreal, Canada
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 10, 2010
Embassy Review : We arrived at the consulate at 7:20am. Line up was't long at all. We were 5th in line I think. Screening was painless. Once screened we went downstairs and waited for a guard to take us up in the elevator. Once there we waited some more for my name to be called. After about 20 minutes I was called to window 11 where a nice blonde hair lady requested all the required documents needed. Once given I was finger printed then sent to the cashier to pay the fee. Brought the proof of payment back to the nice lady at window 11 then took a seat back in the waiting area. Lucky thing my fiance was with me because I realized I had the wrong sized X-presspost envelope. My fiance ran out and got the right one. Make sure you have the large one (12x15). Finally got called into interview room 8 where met a very nice curly haired man. Took the oath and was asked a few questions like how did we meet, have I ever had trouble crossing the border, have either of us ever been married before? Any children? Convicted of any crime? Of course all were no's. Then the curly haired man told me that everything looked good and he was happy to say I was approved!!! He asked me to bring my fiance in so he could meet him. We exchanged a few jokes then thanked him very much and said our good-byes. Total time from arrival to leaving with the approval = an hour and 50 minutes. Overall the experience was not waht I expected. Definitely stressed too much but was grateful for the experience to help others along the way. Quite smooth overall. And our stay at the Days Inn Downtown Montreal was pleasant. Merci Montreal!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
