Consulate Review: Norway
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 14, 2009
Embassy Review : Prior to the interview, I tried to get information from the embassy about the process; they were not very helpful at this stage
I was told to be at the embassy at 10 - 10:30. My fiancée and I were there at 9:45 and had to wait outside for a few minutes to get through the security control. It was about -12 degrees Celsius, so be well dressed during winter. The prescreener asked me to submit the ds-156, ds-156k and some proof of relationship, but did not want much since we both were there. After a short wait the CO came and told my fiancée that the interview was for me, but she could stay. It was basically a nice conversation between the 3 of us for 10 minutes. She wanted to know how we met, what my fiancée and I did for a living, and what line of work I would be in when I moved there. They hadn't received my medical yet, so I had to wait a couple of days to pick up the passport.
The whole process took about one hour, and was quite pleasant.
Rating : Good

Event Description

Embassy Review : Arrived the airport at 1:30pm, was the first person in the line. A nice officer took my fingerprint and picture, gave me a yellow card and told me to sit down and wait. They were processing another application and the guy seemed to be new at this. They started my application and had to go back into an office to get help with something. After a while they called me and asked if the names on the I-129F was correct and stated that I had to marry within 3 months. The whole thing took about one hour
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
