Comments : Ok, so as you can see from my timeline I got the visa.. The us had really got to get it's act together. Let's get one thing straight. I love my country. However they need to get their ducks in a row and tell people of changes in policy. We went in thinking "you have to pay $400 in cash." When we got there it was only $131; and they take credit cards. Then they were telling us that the affadavit of support need to be an original. I never read that in the instructions. Where is that written? It just makes me ashamed. My country bosts itself to be one of the best on Earth, and it is, but it can't even get this straight? Still, we got the visa, so everything turned out OK, but I just wanted to be proud of the state department and well, it just didn't happen.

Note: this was under G Dubya's watch, the worst president in the history of the United States IMHO after Regan and Bush Sr.

Hopefully the decade of sense will see better days for the state department. However, it will be the age of Hilary... Not a great stateswoman IMHO, not like Albright, but maybe she has just enough hutzpah to get the state department's ducks in a row.

Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : JFK
POE Date : 2009-07-21
Got EAD Stamp : Yes,Passport Stamp
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 5
Comments : "Long wait, and complicated," says my finace. Although we did not have to catch any additional flights, however there were people there who were detained from further travel because they were kept at the POE for so long. They missed their connecting flight. Nice job.

I had to ask a representative at the airlines what was going on 3 times. That's once per hour... You can do the math. They kept her there a long time.
She told me that people were not allowed to move. All in all a terrible experience.

Greencard Received: 2010-01-11
Comments : They gave us two notices for the transfer. Once was to tell us that the case was being sent. The second was to inform us that the case had been received by the destination office... It was received by CSC on September 23rd, 2009. Bravo Guys! This is a great way to make sure the cases are not lost in the mail.. Finally something done right!

WE'VE GOT CARD!

But man, still don't have their ducks in a row, first we receive nothing for months, then we call ask what's going on... Literally, the next day, we get an email that a card has been shipped. Then we get an email saying that a welcome letter was sent. Then we get word that she was approved! Isn't this supposed to happen the other way around? O.o!! It was very confusing.

Comments : We got an RFE after getting an extension for no apparent reason. They were requesting information about children estates and other stuff that my wife and I just never did. Basically it's going to be a lot more of more of the same. I hope they are willing to sift through it all. I'm going to send those bastards every copy of every cc bill.. every electric bill... everything from september 2011 until now.

Consulate Review: Israel
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 7, 2012
Embassy Review : Basically like going to a teller at the bank. You stand and face an employee who goes over your application and asks you questions about everything. The payment instructions were completely incorrect. They said that they would not accept credit cards nor cash nor anything except like a certified check from my bank. So I did paid the fee and when we got there was told that good ol' Visa/Mastercard would do just fine.

they have to review the mailers they send out. It seems they are completely disorganized interms of office procedure. However, the lady who conducted our interview was nice and courteous. The wait wasn't terribly long. Security was tight, of course, as East Jerusalem is a hot spot, and politically charged.
Rating : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
