Comments : I am not sure where to put this information. But, I wanted to say something about the Mumbai International Airport when leaving to fly to the USA. It was insanely crazy. My fiance and I were flying out together. Basic low down is the following: You want to have the following with you at all times, not in your suitcase but in your hands, purse, or carry on luggage. your passport, copy of your passport, copy of approval letter from your I-129 approval notice, the sealed package you are supposed to give to USA immigration, proof of where you have been living and proof of your final destination and address at that location. And if you are a USA citizen and you have been visiting on your visa make sure that you have a copy of your registration that you are allowed to stay passed the 180 day limit if you did so. I did do the registration online and did not know that we were supposed to have a paper stating proof of that registration. Also, I suggest you arrive 3 hours at the airport prior to flight to make sure that you get things done in a timely manner.

Biometrics Taken : No
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : All went smooth. Just note that if you are USA citizen traveling with your fiance that you need to go in the USA line at the immigration area and your fiance needs to go in the foreigners line. You can not go in the same line with them. Also. if you find yourself waiting for your fiance after you have gone through customs/immigration in Newark. Before you wait to long ask and officer about your fiance. Chances are that your fiance has been taken downstairs through a separate door that you do not go through nor that you can even see. Make sure to take the stairs or the elevator downstairs. There you will find your luggage and your fiance will be inside kinda dark room with glass doors finishing up there processings. You just need to wait it may take awhile depending on how many people there are and also depending on where they were in the line up. Be patient. It can feel kind of nerve racking but it is all normal but can take some time.

Comments : we had our interview on november 9th, 2009. All was easy and smooth. We were approved but,USCIS wanted more documents from us, like proof of my pregnancy from the doctor, copy of our life insurance, copy of our medical insurance. We had to provide this by November 23rd before being fully approved. We got the information to them by November 20th. Then my husband got the approval/welcome to the USA letter December 29th, 2009. (For those of you who do not know, it can take up to 90 days after your interview before the USCIS gives you approval or denial letter).
We are supposed to receive the actual green card (permanent resident card) within the next 3 weeks.

Then we have to apply to have conditions removed from the permanent resident status in two years but, you need to send in the application about 90 days prior to this 2 years being over. So we will be applying in about 1 year and 9 months from now.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
