Event Description

Embassy Review : Been staying at the Allenhof hotel which is a 15 minute walk from the consulate away. One night incl breakfast cost 60eur. It's ok for only staying a night.

The counter to receive your W123 ticket at the embassy is to the left of the entrance. Once you have obtained this by showing your passport and invitation letter you queue up in front of the main entrance to pass the airport style security check.

After passing that you go across the courtyard into the main building. By the time I made it there my number was already on the board for counter 23. Handed over passport, photograph got blank envelope to self address. Required postage as of writing is 4.25eur. Check at Post.de for big registered letter max weight 1000g in case of changes.

Waited for a few minutes until being called up to counter 21 where birth cert, police cert, military record and affidavit were collected. Been told that they got the medical records from the exam a week earlier in Hamburg and all ok. Received booklet about immigration, was told to wait for the consul interview but papers look good and should be fine.

Waited 30 minuted for the consul, questions were about how we met and where, how often we have seen one another. No further evidence required, but we already sent a dozen photos and copies of the plane tickets with the i129f. Had fingerprints taken. Was told result of that check takes about half a day, if that comes back ok the visa would be in the mail end of the week or latest begin of next.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
