US Embassy called my thai fiance 6/30/08 one week after packet 3 arrived at fiance's home in BKK to ask when she will get police report (takes 3 weeks for police report). She told lady at embassy she will get police report on 7/21/08. On 7/22/08 lady from embassy called my fiance to set up interview for Aug 20 (1 month later). She also gave her more info to get like Medical exam etc. to do between 7/22/08 and interview date and bring everything to interview.
To better prepare for Pkt 3 - you can shorten time if you know what to expect. The USA Citizen needs to complete form (all found on usgov web sites - via google search): I-134, and the fiance needs to complete DS-230, DS-156, DS-156k, DS-157. Fiance needed police report (takes 3-4 weeks) and birth certificate (2 weeks)...All this could have been done earlier if we knew all this. I think the embassy will arrange an interview with fiance 1 month after the date she has her Police report - so get that done ahead of time if you can to shorten wait by 3 weeks.
For her interview, we went together, but really they only want to speak with her. She was told too arrive at 7:30am and go to window 5. No one was there but a note directed her to call an extension and someone came by to window 5 a minute later; reviewed her papers and told her to sit and she will be called. It is very busy and confusing all morning. We waited from 7:30am until 11am when she was called (we saw several others waiting for fiance visa holding X-rays and they all got called between 10:45am - 11:30am. She spoke to the guy for 5 minutes - basic questions about our relationship (how long we dated, where we met, etc.). He told her to come back in 2 days at 3:30pm. We only waiting 10-20 minutes on that day to get the visa and passport back. Went thru US immigrations with a few questions at immigration counter but OK. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
