Hi is your case transferred to NVC yet?

Hello! I am still waiting on my confirmation from NVC. USCIS notified me several days ago that they mailed it to NVC, so hopefully any day now.

Looks like we started around the same time! Curious to see if we progress at the same rate

My case was approved on July 23. It still shows approved status. I am curious if I should call and ask uscis if the case was transferred.

I used https://trackmyvisanow.com/ to get updates and estimates from USCIS stage. I think they did say there is a way to request the status of your case on the USCIS website, or an email address you can send your inquiry to and attach your NOA2 and case number in the subject line. Hope you get notified soon! I didn’t get anything in the mail when they mailed it to NVC, it just updated my status in Track My Visa Now. Yours may have already been mailed too.
blank avatar NagaMerican on 2025-08-30 said:
Track My Visa Now also has a Discord channel that has been very helpful, I don’t think you need to have an account to join the discord
blank avatar Samdillon on 2025-08-30 said:
That’s where I track at trackmyvisa and it tells me estimate of sep 9 when the case will get transfer to department of state. I will also look into discord channel. Please keep me updated once you get the case number at NVC.

Hi did you get case number yet? Our case was transferred to department of State on Sep 15. Trying to figure out how long it takes to get case number and get the case transferred to mumbai embassy.
blank avatar NagaMerican on 2025-09-20 said:
Hi, We are still waiting. It says on the notification I received from USCIS that it takes 2-4 weeks to hear from DOS once transferred, and on the DOS website it says not to submit an inquiry before 30 days. Tomorrow will have been 30 days, so I'll submit my inquiry then. Hopefully yours will go quicker than mine.
blank avatar Samdillon on 2025-09-21 said:
Thanks for the update. Please keep me updated once you receive case number and shows in transit. Best of luck!! Hope you hear something soooonn!!

Hi we received the case number today. How to know when NVC received? Is it when I get case number. Since we received the case number today I guess we have to wait until next shipment dates which oct 21& 22. Oct 7-8 shipment is unlikely since we just received case number today. Also do you know if Mumbai embassy is good in taking cases like no shipment delays and I see many people who received case number in end of august are still not transferred. Also is your case ready? Trying to get estimates of in transit ready and interview schedule spot.
blank avatar NagaMerican on 2025-10-08 said:
Hi! I received an email from NVC stating that they had received my case along with the case number. You know more than me about shipment dates, but ours was received on 10/06 in Mumbai (2 days ago). I think it took about a week and a half after NVC mailed it for them to mark it as "ready". We just kept checking CEAC status every day. My fiance is going to submit her DS-160 tomorrow or the next day, then we should get an idea of how far out the interview dates are.
blank avatar Samdillon on 2025-10-08 said:
Thank youu!!! Please keep me updated about the interview slots if it’s easy to get interview. I wish you and your fiance best of luck!!!
blank avatar NagaMerican on 2025-10-08 said:
Thank you so much! Same to you both!
blank avatar NagaMerican on 2025-10-18 said:
It was a confusing process, but we were able to get her interview, biometrics, and medical scheduled. Once the CEAC status is READY, don't wait for the Packet 3 to arrive by mail. Go ahead and fill out the DS-160 online, pay your fee on usvisascheduling.com, and once the payment goes through you can schedule your OFC (biometrics) and then interview. Once you print the confirmation page with OFC and Interview dates, you can use that to schedule the medical. Try to pick an OFC date a few weeks away to give time for the medical appointment to be scheduled, and allow some time for the result to be mailed, so you have it before the interview.
blank avatar NagaMerican on 2025-10-18 said:
The OFC (biometrics) slots are a rolling 14 day window, so you can't wait for a farther date to open... you will always be within 14 days of the options. Once you schedule the interview, you are allowed one rescheduling of the OFC date if you need to move it closer to the interview. Ours was 1 week apart, we kept it like that and she will travel to Mumbai twice.
blank avatar Samdillon on 2025-10-18 said:
Thankss for the information. We will be hopefully send on 21-22 oct and when the case shows ready status we will schedule biometrics and medical and after medical we will schedule interview after 10-15 days. As you said we won’t wait for packet 3. How long after did you get packet 3 or you didn’t received it yet?
blank avatar NagaMerican on 2025-10-18 said:
She wasn’t able to schedule her medical without the interview confirmation page, unless there was a miscommunication. The portal required us to choose a date for the biometrics before we could see the slots for the interview. Seems backwards! It took a couple of weeks for her to get packet 3 after they mailed it, it said it was mailed 10/9, arrived 10/17. We had already scheduled everything. It’s just informational though. So, the only order we could schedule things was biometrics, interview, medical… even though the order of appointments has to be medical, biometrics, interview! Crazy
blank avatar Samdillon on 2025-10-18 said:
Loll that’s crazy. Thanks for info.
blank avatar Samdillon on 2025-10-18 said:
Also the paper copy of packet 3 did it came to the house directly or she picked it from DHL or something. Asking because the mailing system in India isn’t that great. Where my fiance lives he lives in a farmhouse where there are no house numbers so just concerned about receiving the paper copy. Also do they give any tracking number or notification to track the packet after it’s send?
blank avatar NagaMerican on 2025-10-18 said:
It came to her house, but she said it was the cheapest postage. You don’t need it though, there’s no new case number or anything. It’s just the next steps you can find online
blank avatar Samdillon on 2025-10-18 said:
Ohh then it’s fine. Thank you. Good luck for the interview!!
blank avatar Samdillon on 2025-10-18 said:
Also for mumbai embassy was it quick to get interview slots or there is wait time to book it? I m expecting my fiance to come during the thanksgiving holidays (end of nov) if we get transferred this tues, Wednesday.
blank avatar NagaMerican on 2025-10-19 said:
The interview slots were 3-4 weeks away for us, she booked 11/7 as her interview date. They will mail her passport to her with the visa stamped in one of the pages, so we are going to book her plane ticket for a couple weeks after that to allow for the mail time. That will put her getting here a few days before Thanksgiving… yours will probably be a couple weeks after us

Hi around what time was your case status changed “in transit” during the shipment dates? Did it changed on first shipment date or date later?
blank avatar Samdillon on 2025-10-22 said:
Mine still shows at NVC. Today is the second shipment date. That’s why I wanted to confirm with you around what time was your status changed

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
