Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : JFK
POE Date : 2008-11-30
Got EAD Stamp : Yes,EAD Card
Biometrics Taken : No
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : Everyone was very nice/cordial. The immigration officer commented that we should have done the K-3 since he "hates K-1 visas" whatever that means. I'm happy we did the K-1. Recieved EAD card -- we were "all set"...whole process took less than 1 hour from deplaning to going through final customs check. Very easy. JFK has the process down.

Consulate Review: Naples, Italy
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 14, 2008
Embassy Review : Medical exam was held on a Monday morning. There were 5 or 6 others in waiting room. All employees were very nice. The appointment took less than 2 hours total. They would have sent me direct to the US Consulate following the exam, but it was Columbus Day (recognized by US Government, office was closed.)

Next day was US Consulate appointment. When called to the window, all documents were handed over and checked. No questions were asked. They said I could come back by 5pm that same day to see if my visa was ready. I did and I recieved it by 4:45pm the same day!

In general, the process was fluid and positive. Good luck to everyone!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
