Hi Javier, I'm glad I found your profile on here, VisaJourney. I was looking for information on how Ciudad Juárez handles K1 applications. I see that the NVC received my I-129F from USCIS on August 27, 2025, and assigned my case number on September 9, 2025. I received a welcome letter from NVC with my case number, but it doesn't mention anything about DS-160 or paying the fees. Should I wait for another email? Is that correct? I saw your timeline, and it shows you waited about three months between NVC and Ciudad Juárez. You didn't specify a date for packet number 3 on your timeline—do we have a packet 3 for K1 applications? Could you please check your email from Ciudad Juarez and let me know the email address it was sent from? Thanks, PJ

Hi PJ, I'll be glad to assist you with anything I can. I think what you need to wait on is the visa appointment email. They schedule it for you but they give you instructions as well on the same email on how to schedule your own appointment for biometrics which is usually at least a day before the visa interview appointment. I'd be glad to share our progress as well via DM if it's easier for you but to give you some peace of mind, we received the email from NVC on May 6, 2025 that they had received our application and were going to forward to US Consulate in Ciudad Juarez. I kept checking the visa status online in the portal and then it finally got updated on August 15th that our case was READY. A few days later we received an email from CDJIVDocs@state.gov confirming our visa interview appointment with useful links and additional instructions. You need to click on the link to create an account with the US Consulate in Ciudad Juarez and schedule your appointments. I'll try to attach a picture of what the email looks like but once you receive that email, the next step is scheduling the biometrics appointment, the medical appointment which can only be done at 1 of the 3 locations they suggest. Two of the locations are in Juarez and one in Mexico City. I scheduled the medical exam on the morning of the day that we scheduled the biometrics appointment so we could take care of both in the same day. It is crucial that you guys schedule the medical exam at least 3 days before the visa interview because the clinic needs at least one business day to deliver the results over to the consulate.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
