Timeline Comments: 6

For the first time, there has been an update on my case which now indicates that a decision should be made in 4 months which would put it at late October, early November.

After checking progress today, the timeline has jumped 2 months so that now it is 6 months before they make a decision. I guess they too busy processing Mexicans and South Americans to help a US citizen.

Well, the estimate is off a bit: here it is November 24 and status says 1 more week. I will keep an eye on it to see if it drops to days, but I kind of doubt it since Thanksgiving is coming up this week.

Why the hell is my case moved to 5 months from 1 week just a few days ago???

It turns out there was a glitch in the system and it underwent maintenance on 11/29-12/01. Once resolved, the status showed application approved 11/29. Notice from National Visa Center dated 12/2 has arrived. Now I need to pay more fees on top of the initial $535 for the I-130.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
