Congratulations on your visa progress. I am on the same situation like yours but mine still at NVC. Have you heard anything from consulate yet? did they sent you email with instructions? Is your NVC status changed to "ready" when consulate received the case? forgive me if I bothered you with too much questions. I'm just frustrated.

Thanks! I'm the petitioner so I received an email yesterday from the consulate saying they're ready to process my case and to schedule an interview, which came with instructions in the emai. Yes the status said "ready" when the consulate received my case. If it's still at nvc then they haven't sent it to the consulate yet. When they send it, it will say "in transit" and then a few days later the status should say "ready".

Congratulations again. I really appreciate for your honest response. Yes my case is still at NVC I don't know how long it will take them to forward it. Go ahead and fill out DS-160 & pay visa fee then schedule interview appointment. Per visa journey info US embassy in Addis Ababa only have 3-4 of K1 visa interview days per month. therefore, the sooner is the better in my understanding. Wish you best of luck.

No problem. We filled the DS-160 and paid last week and we booked our interview date. So far they still have some interview appointment dates for May. June only have 2 days left right now, but July through September there is plenty. I'm glad they already have appointment dates available for the consulate in Addis Ababa. Good luck on the rest of your journey. It's a long process, but it will be worth the wait

Hello friend. my case status says " ready" at NVC. but I haven't got email from consulate yet. should I fill out DS-160 form and pay the fee or Should I wait until consulate send me email?

Hi, You can fill out the DS-160 and pay the fee before you get the consulate's email.

In order to pay for visa and schedule Appointment, I have to register and create account on embassy's website. there is requirement to create an account, that is I have to receive email with instructions from consulate. I am a bit confused.

You can still register and create an account without having received the email yet. I'm not sure how long it usually takes, but we received ours after 17 days from "ready" status and we knew our interview would have to be sometime in the summer so we went ahead and booked the interview sometime after paying. About 2 days later, we received our email with instructions. As long as you receive instructions before your interview date you're good

I went to Embassy website which has two sections one for nonimmigrant and the other is for immigrant. Iam not sure which site is for K-1 visa to register and pay?

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
