Very brief interaction at port of entry, probably 3 minutes. We did mention to the officer that we had been married 2 years already and he asked a colleague and then stamped us IR-1. Highly recommend you mention this in a friendly way as he was unaware and going to mark us CR-1 (he seemed not to even know he could change our status until asking the officer next door!). Asked for our address and then let us in. Easy peazy! |

Wait time after being admitted to the building was about an hour. Everyone in the room was there for immediate family / immigration visas (IR). Fiance and visitor visas were separated and sent to another room. There were at least 100 people there this morning.
The interview took less than 3 minutes. Questions asked were name, date of birth, USC occupation, question about a member of USC's family, and then he said "one more easy question: When was the date of the last meeting with your spouse?"
The officer said the visa should arrive within 2 weeks. He was friendly, and smiled, which put my partner at ease! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
