Fiance is Ugandan and we incorrectly filled in the embassy of choice on the I129 as Kampala instead of Nairobi. This led to numerous delays. We had a chance to fix it during the nvc stage but we didn't know we had messed up then. When we contacted the Kampala embassy, they told us the case would be transferred automatically, it didn't happen. In Nov, we emailed them and they electronically transferred the case to Nairobi. However, they didn't transfer the physical case, this led to more delays. Even after transferring the physical case, getting instructions, it took a month for the case to show on AIS after opening several tickets with them as case started with KMPxxxxxx instead of NRB. Word of caution: MAKE CERTAIN YOU PUT "NAIROBI" ON THE I129 IF YOU ARE UGANDAN. |

Cnnk on 2023-08-23 said:Still waiting on packet 3/email to book an appointment from the embassy. Embassy responded to my email and said they don't have our case yet due to backlog. It's likely at the embassy, but so many cases. Most people who have interview dates or appointment letters expedited their cases for Nairobi. Our case was also showing in transit on CEAC for the longest time not it returns 'Your search did not return any data.'
EO&KA on 2023-08-23 said:I've seen people booking interviews without the email confirmation from the embassy. Are you in the K1 WhatsApp group?
Oh..you are Nairobi? We are Yaounde consulate fyi :-)

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
