Event Description
Review Date : October 16, 2023
Embassy Review : Setting the interview date was okay, we found an interview date for about a month later. Appointment was at 8.00 and we were there by 7.30. They called 7.45 first, and a few minutes later they announced they were expecting people whose interviews are at 8.00. First, they took my passport at the window outside. Then, I went through a door and through an x-ray. Everything went into the bin (I only had my wallet. Everything else was with my fiancèe. Inside, people at the desk gave me a number, and I started waiting for my turn. When it was my turn, a polite worker asked me for my documents one by one through a checklist. I wasn't able to locate one of the documents and she informed me I could print it out from a computer they had just set up on the side. I handed in all my document, printed out the missing one, and sat down, waiting for my number to light up again. I got to listen to a few people having their interviews. Some of them didn't have an updated letter of intent, or had applied for a refugee status, and so many different issues. I've witnessed a few people get denied for various reasons. Then it was my turn. CO was very polite and smiling. Asked me how my day was and all. Then we went through my documents together, and he asked me for a few additional ones (updated letter of intent from me as well). He thought out loud while going through the files which helped me understand what was going on. Then he began asking questions. He asked how we met, what my fiancée does for a living, and where we were gonna live. He made a couple of jokes and was overall very friendly in demeanor. I was expecting more questions but he just said "your visa is approved, you'll receive it within 7 days". I was very happy and excited. I thanked him, turned around and walked outside to my fiancée. It was a very pleasant experience.

Hey, thank you! After going through all of the documents I've brought (divorce cert. criminal records, updated letter of intent from both parties, birth certificate of beneficiary, financial documents of petitioner etc) they asked the following three questions: - How did you meet - What does she do for a living - Where are you planning to live. I was expecting more questions, so when he said your visa is approved, I was a bit surprised :)

That sounds too easy you know which is so good. So do you have too make a new intent to marry? Because we didnt know until we received a confirmation for his appointment from the embassy and by the time we saw it we were already in turkey. What do you think i should do?
blank avatar Summ on 2023-10-16 said:
Also how long did it take for your documents to get back to you?
Xereon on 2023-10-16 said:
We had already heard that the petitioner is required to make an updated letter of intent, and the CO literally said "do you have an updated letter of intent as well? (beneficiary) It's not absolutely necessary, but it helps". I'd say try to make updated letters of intent if possible, but I feel like they would also understand if there is a reasonable explanation. My passport arrived in 6 days.

Thats good, i just made a new one today but only for myself. BTW whats a refugee status?
Xereon on 2023-10-18 said:
Refugees are people in a different category, also called asylum seekers.

Hello. Congratulations. Our noa2 was approved on October 21, 2023. We received the ftp k1 letter. And I mailed the consulate for package3/4. They sent a link with instructions. They also sent an e-mail that they received the 129f petition. I am waiting for an appointment for the interview. But I still haven't found it. Is the visa fee after the appointment is set? And when do we have to go to the doctor's control required for the visa interview? Is that also after the appointment date is set?
Xereon on 2023-12-28 said:
@Jadallah You would have to first set the interview date with the embassy through their website. After having set the interview date, you will be able to do the medical within 30 days of your interview date (minimum). For example, our interview date was October 10th, and I did the medical on September 10th.

@Xereon thank you for your answer. I sent an e-mail to the consulate for Package 3/4 and they sent me a link with instructions. But I don't know what Package 4 is.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
