Hello, do you have to wait for packet 4th before you can schedule your appointment?
blank avatar NH10 on 2023-06-23 said:
Hello. No, you can schedule after you receive the welcome letter (packet 3). I don’t think packet 4 is applicable for K1. We received the welcome letter this week so now just checking twice a day for interview slots to open up.

Okay, but I heard the new update from the embassy is for them to send you a packet 4 with a link to schedule a date for your interview.

The instructions in the welcome packet are to complete the DS160, pay the fee, then schedule the interview on the ustraveldocs site. I’m not sure why the welcome packet would include these instructions if we are unable to schedule the interview yet. Where did you hear that update about a link in packet 4?

An interview slot opened up this morning that I was able to book so I don’t think the information you heard about packet 4 is accurate. Just keep checking after you receive the welcome packet.

Wow congrats. I’m currently waiting on packet 3 , this is my 5th week waiting but I have filled out my ds160 and paid for my visa fee.. hopefully I get the packet 3 next week then I’ll be able to schedule an appointment.

How where you able to find a interview date if they ask if your case number starts with LGS2019,LGS2020, and LGS2021? How did you get beyond that step?
blank avatar Aimee Toby on 2023-08-07 said:
We are still looking for an interview date. We have checked and checked and no luck yet. We received packet 3 and have now been waiting over 2 months for an interview date to come available.

You can just select “Yes” to move beyond that question. I think for K1 once you receive the welcome packet, you can click through the questions and schedule the interview. That’s what we did and had no issues.

Ok but i am asking how did you get beyond the screen that ask if you case number starts with a certain number? I get a yellow message asking for your case number. Are you select yes or no on that screen? To me that means thwy are backlogged and haven't even started taking appointments for cases that start with 2022 or 2023

Ok got it. Thank you

Thank you! How long after your interview appointment did it take for you to get the approval and receive the visa?
blank avatar NH10 on 2023-08-18 said:
We received a 221(g) at the interview to provide one additional document. It took us about 3 weeks to obtain and provide the document. Once provided, it was only about a week and a half until our visa was issued.
blank avatar NT4ever32 on 2023-09-03 said:
What additional document did they ask for?
blank avatar NH10 on 2023-09-04 said:
An additional police certificate from the country my fiancé attended university. We should have brought initially to the interview but we didn’t think about it.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
