Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : Abu Dhabi
POE Date : 2023-04-20
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : POE was Abu Dhabi. It was very smooth. I went to India to pick her up. The CBP Officer looked very stern but she didn't ask too many questions. First she asked for the packet and then she looked at the documents inside. She signed or made a few comments on some of the pages. She asked me not my fiancée, where we are staying in US. She asked my fiancée if she has any children. I don't even think she looked at the visa stamp in the passport, just the documents inside the packet. She then stamped her passport granting her entry to US and told us we have till 90 days to get married. The whole process was over in less than 10-15 minutes.

Consulate Review: Mumbai, India
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 30, 2023
Embassy Review : Appointment was at 715 am. They let her at that time. Waited in line to receive a token. At that time all the documents and proofs were taken.
After some time, her token was called at a particular desk. She went and was asked a few questions regarding me.
What does your fiancée do?
Where is he located?
What plans have you made for getting married?
Is your family ok with your pregnancy?
What day did you get engaged?
They also tried to catch her slipping by asking her why did they hear her say husband at the token counter? even though she never said that
Then the visa was approved and she received it along with the packet a few days letter.
Overall, the whole interview process took 2.5-3 hours.

Rating : Good

Hi! I was wondering how you got your appointment. I have a similar timeline to yours and we are now trying to book our appointment online. We book the OFC appt, but it then shows no Mumbai consular appointments available. We have tried many of the different dates. Did you book it online easily or do you have any tricks? Thanks!

A month after we received our NOA2, I started asking NVC for our case number. I finally received it around Feb 14th. They also told me that they have sent the case to Mumbai Consulate. We immediately scheduled our biometrics and interview appointments. We just scheduled our appointments as soon as the online case status said ready. We didn't wait for the letter from the embassy to arrive. We figured that by the time the appointment date arrive the letter will also arrive. And the letter arrived last week.
JRP1990 on 2023-03-14 said:
hope this helps. From what I can recall when we booked the appointments, there were quite a few slots for biometrics appointment in March. But they only had two days available for the interview appointment, March 24th and March 31st.
Beatles503 on 2023-03-14 said:
Thanks for your reply! That's awesome. Yeah, for us it looks like there are a lot of available biometric appointments but no available interview appointments right now. We keep logging onto the site and retrying everyday because we get timed out if we try too many times. I guess we will keep trying. Good luck with your interview!!

Hey can you book your interview and medical appointment after your case is ready at NVC or have to wait till you get appointment letter by embassy?
JRP1990 on 2023-04-06 said:
We booked it before we got the letter from the embassy. You only need the case number from the NVC. We did wait until the file got to the embassy from the NVC
JRP1990 on 2023-04-06 said:
You can check the case status at the CEAC case status website. Use the case number provided from the NVC. As soon as the case status says ‘Ready’, we booked our appointments

Hey, i got my NOA 2 on 3rd March. After 1 month I have send an inquiry email to NVC and they have not received the my case. I asked again after 6 weeks of NOA2 but, still they didn’t receive it. It has has been 2 months and still waiting for NVC to receive it. Do you know what I can do on this situation??
JRP1990 on 2023-04-28 said:
I am not sure. NVC received my case in about a month and it took another month and a half before it gave me my case number and sent the case to the Mumbai consulate.
blank avatar DP & NP on 2023-04-29 said:
Thank you for your quick response. And how do we know that NVC received my case? Will they send an email notification to me?? Or Do we have to email them and ask them?
JRP1990 on 2023-06-11 said:
I only know because they changed their response from we have not received the case to we received the case and are processing it. I kept emailing them every week.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
