Congrats on your noa2!

Hi! I was wondering if you had your interview already?
blank avatar Julie238 on 2023-12-17 said:
Hi! Yes my fiancé had his interview last friday
blank avatar Sou on 2023-12-17 said:
Oh thats good news! Congrats! How did the embassy contact your fiancé for the welcome letter (pk3)? Did they send the letter to your e-mail (the petitioner)? Or did they send him a physical letter via the post?
blank avatar Julie238 on 2023-12-17 said:
Thank you! So as petitioner, I received the letter from the NVC by email like a month after receiving our NOA2 (NOA2 was Aug 9, NVC Sep 15). He then received the packet from the consulate on Oct 4, in which he received the NVC letter by mail on the same day
blank avatar Sou on 2023-12-17 said:
I’m sorry but to clarify your fiancé received the packet from the consulate to his home address? Through post/mail right?
blank avatar Julie238 on 2023-12-17 said:
Oh sorry I realize i wasn’t clear on that— Yes he received the packet thru the mail to his mailing address that was provided on the form I-129F application :)
blank avatar Sou on 2023-12-17 said:
Thank you so much for your answers! One last question, prior to him receiving the packet from the embassy, did he fill out the ds-160? Or did he wait and filled that one out after he received the letter from the embassy?
blank avatar Julie238 on 2023-12-17 said:
Of course! We did not fill out the ds-160 until he received the packet from the embassy. If I remember correctly, once the ds-160 is completed you can schedule the interview. Word of advice, when you schedule the medical exam make sure you leave a enough time before your interview because it took us 2 weeks to receive the medical results so we had to reschedule our interview twice. Best of luck on you and your fiancé’s process!
blank avatar Sou on 2023-12-17 said:
Okay thank you for your help! I’m trying to honestly postpone my interview/medical as much as I can. As I don’t feel ready to leave my family and friends yet. Not sure if you will know but how far away could you schedule interviews?
blank avatar Julie238 on 2023-12-17 said:
So unfortunately I never checked to see how far out you could schedule the interview— but if your interview is over 4 months past your NOA2 date (ours was), then you need to bring another letter of intent to marry from the petitioner, signed and dated. and it must be an original signature, not a photocopied one so if they’re in the USA they’ll have to send it to you by mail (this is mentioned in the packet you’ll receive)
blank avatar Sou on 2023-12-17 said:
Oh okay that’s good to know. Thank you!
blank avatar Sou on 2023-12-18 said:
Hi! Sorry to bother you again. By any chance do you know where your fiancé got his US format passport photos? I‘ve read that you can take photos at the embassy too but i feel like that’s kinda stressful as i dont know how much time i’ll have but i also can’t wait till then because you need US passport photos too for the medical exam. The embassy listed a few places but they all have mixed reviews so I wanted to see if your fiancé had any suggestions.
blank avatar Julie238 on 2023-12-18 said:
Hi! We just went to a photography shop and asked if they could do us passport style photos and they could. Can’t vouch for photos at the embassy, I feel like having them in advance would maybe be safer.
blank avatar Sou on 2023-12-18 said:
Thank you for your reply! Was it a photograph shop in Brussels or the area where your fiancé lives? If it was in Brussels, is it possible for you to give me the name of it?
blank avatar Julie238 on 2023-12-18 said:
It was in brussels, but i looked it up and it’s since gone out of business i guess. i would just call around to your local photo shops to see who provides the service. wasn’t hard to find
blank avatar Sou on 2023-12-18 said:
Oki thank you for your help! Congrats on the visa approval!

thank you!

One last question, does the embassy also send package 4 or did they only send your fiancé package 3 and thats it?

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
