Hello! When was the first notification you received from the NVC or embassy? Our NOA2 was about a week after yours but I haven’t heard anything yet in terms of receiving an email

Hi! We’ve been making inquiries with AskNVC. On 1/26, they said they had our case but haven’t entered into their systems. On 2/9, we received our case number. On 2/14, we got an email that said our case was in transit. Today on 2/15, our case was ready according to CEAC. You should make an inquiry with AskNVC to receive your case number. Otherwise, you won’t get any notification until the embassy emails you. It’s very likely your case is ready as well or will be within the next 1-2 weeks.

Thank you for your help! So has the embassy emailed you at this point?
blank avatar Bonshawn on 2023-02-16 said:
Not yet. But when they do, the information will be pretty generic, telling us to schedule an appointment and complete the ds-160, which we can do right now.

Thank you! Good luck on your interview 🙏🏻

We see online that our status shows ready on 2/15 also. Did you receive the instruction packet already or did you just make the appointment for the interview? I'm confused because the embassy instructions say to wait, but I see advice online to just make the appointment.
blank avatar Bonshawn on 2023-02-19 said:
Hi Tim and Sara, we had the same confusion. However we spoke to some people who went through the visa process in Bogota and they said that the welcome packet is generic and doesn’t tell you anything new. So we went ahead and just booked an appt. We also booked 1.5 months from now so assuming the welcome pack would arrive by then anyways

So I sent an inquiry to the NVC like you suggested and they replied with “you will be notified when this case is forwarded to the embassy” did you receive this response at one point? It sounds to me like they have the case created and is going to be sent soon but they did give me a case number
blank avatar Bonshawn on 2023-02-21 said:
@Carolina and Chris: Yes, we received an email on 2/14 that the case was in transit to the embassy. Have you checked the status using the case number on the CEAC website?
blank avatar Carolina Y Chris on 2023-02-21 said:
They have not provided me with a case number yet from the NVC
blank avatar Bonshawn on 2023-02-21 said:
In your last message you wrote “they did give me a case number”?
blank avatar Carolina Y Chris on 2023-02-21 said:
Hello, I am inquiring about the status of our case with the NVC to see if it has been received and if there is a case number available yet? This is the exact message I sent them and they replied “hello sir/madam, you will be notified when this case is forwarded to the embassy” they totally ignored the part about the case number
blank avatar Bonshawn on 2023-02-23 said:
They ignored my request in one of my emails too. You should make another inquiry and hopefully get a better agent. My request was: I understand the NVC has received my application. I would like to ask for current status and receive my NVC case number. My info are as follows (please update email address if necessary): Receipt Number: XXX, Petitioner: XXX, Petitioner DOB: xxxx, Petitioner Email: xxxxx, Beneficiary: xxxxx, Beneficiary DOB: xxxxx, Beneficiary Email: xxxxx

Thank you! Good to know you had a similar experience…mine should be coming soon then. Has Bogotá sent you any additional information?
blank avatar Bonshawn on 2023-02-24 said:
Not yet, but hoping we hear something before our appointment in one month haha
blank avatar Carolina Y Chris on 2023-02-24 said:
Haha I’m sure it’s coming soon! Good luck to y’all 🙏🏻

Have you guys got anything from the embassy yet?
blank avatar Carolina Y Chris on 2023-03-29 said:
Congrats!! How was the interview process?
blank avatar Bonshawn on 2023-03-30 said:
Super easy, the wait to be seen was about an hr but the whole interview lasted about 5-10 mins. Good luck to all you guys!

Hi how are you my fiance is from venzuela and she is going for her k1 interview in bogota. We are just curious how did you pick up your vísa after the interview? What did you select for the mailing address after completing the DS160? Also for the interview do you know if it was okay to just use tax transcript from the IRS that had the sensitive information hidden
Michael & Vanessa on 2023-08-30 said:
Good evening how long did it take to receive the social security cardI? Is the green card recieved a conditional green card?
blank avatar Bonshawn on 2023-08-30 said:
We applied for the social security card 2 weeks after getting married once my fiance arrived. We received the ssn card a week later. We applied before submitting our AOS applications. The green cars is a conditional green card valid for 2 years.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
