Congratulations in advance on a successful interview. I would like to ask, did you expedite your case and also after it was sent to embassy, did they automatically sent you an interview date or you picked it on the portal?

Yes, we expedited our case @ola_shan using finances of the petitioner reason.

….. yes, they also chose the interview date for us, we weren’t directed to choose it from the calendar.

Oh thank you for your response. So did the embassy send you the date or you had to pick it yourself on the portal. Also since reason for expedite is financial loss, does that mean you would need a joint sponsor?

Financial but not total job loss. More of potential for job loss if partner is not here to help with childcare while I work. Expedite was rejected the first time, but approved the 2nd time. I also attached proof. So whatever one’s expedite reason is, there a potential for approval if proof is attached to the expedite request.

Good evening and Congratulations on your future interview! Me and your situation sounds similar I was wondering if possible can you let me know where you sent your expedite and is there a certain way you have to send the expedite like pdf or just regular email and also did you use like a sample letter for your expedite. Sorry for so many questions. Take care and may continue to bless y’all journey

I sent my expedite request to nvcexpedite@state.gov. —- i included my name and date of birth, spouse name and date of birth with the case number. Then include case number in the title of the email. Also whatever details you include in the body of the email, write the same details in a word document and attach it to the email. Also attach any proofs you have and send it to the email I stated above.

Thank you so much for your help and quick response

Hello please how long did it take from the day u sent your experdite letter till when nvc got back to u with a success message?

It took exactly one week.

Thank you for your responses. If i may ask, can you give me an idea of what kind of proof you used to support the expedite in terms of “possible loss if fiance doesn’t come quickly Would like to know. Thanks a lot and congratulations

Everyone’s case differs. I sent proofs pertaining to my expedite case that I may not be able to share here. Sorry. If you are requesting an expedite, you should attach proofs or valid documents that buttresses your request.

Thank you for your help and quick response

Congratulations on your approval

Congratulations on your approval. What questions were asked during your interview?

Thanks for the congratulatory messages.

About the interview, My husband got there at 6:30 a.m, they went through security, checked them in making sure they have all the required docs. At about 8:30a.m, he was later called to window 19 by an African American lady. He said it felt like a conversation not like a typical interview. CO asked about my name, our daughter’s name, some wedding pictures and family pictures over the years, how many times I’ve visited him in Nigeria, if we had other kids aside our daughter. And that was it. She said he was approved. The next day, it shows administrative process, the next day it shows visa issued. We are just waiting for a passport pick up email from DHL. Grateful to God for favor and mercy.

Please I am looking at your timeline…how long did it take from the day u got expedited to the interview date? Congratulations on your interview

Congratulations 🎊. So was it more like, you expedited, they sent it to embassy and after a while embassy sent you interview letter
Or immediately they approved the expedite, they sent u interview letter at the same time the case was sent to embassy

@belovedtunechi, I responded above. It took one week.

@ola_shan. When the Lagos consulate approved the expedite. NVC sent case to embassy, then embasssy gave us a date a few weeks later.

@belovedtunechi sorry I misunderstood your question. It took a few weeks after embassy expedited for us to get an interview date. Say maybe 2weeks

So we had just 9days maybe to prepare and get medicals done. It was a RUSH

Please I am looking at your timeline…how long did it take from the day u got expedited to the interview date? Congratulations on your interview

Good morning I also forgot to ask do you know what doctor your husband went to for his medical in Lagos? I have been seeing in other timelines there is a certain clinic that have been having problems with sending over the medical documents to embassy

There are two facilities approved in Lagos. One on the main land and one on the island (I’m trying not to mention their names). But the one on the island in V.I I think was nice enough to speed up my husband’s medical appt. Because it looks like the consulate got his medicals on time before the interview. But the one on mainland don’t pick up their calls - so I can’t really speak on their service or speed of medicals delivery

Ok this definitely helped thank you

My pleasure. Thanks even for the good wishes. Wishing everyone a successful and approved visa interview!
Key: Know your spouse/fiancé well. Be confident! Prayer also helps!

**thanks everyone
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
** Not all cases are transfered
