Congrats on your approval! Hopefully we are right behind you. Could you tell me how long it took between DQ and your interview letter from Tokyo? Thanks and best of luck to you on your new life!

We sent expedite request before DQ. The request was approved and we received an interview letter a couple of days later. But I saw people getting interview letters within 2-4 weeks after DQ and usually interview date is 1-2 months later from the interview letter. If you are waiting for the interview letter for a long time, I recommend you to send expedite request as Tokyo embassy is relatively generous to expedite requests.

Thanks for getting back to me! We got our interview date! It's two months away which kinda stinks but we will live!
Take care!

I think they purposely put it so far out, because it takes time to do the medical and other preparation like requesting days off from a job. So by putting if further out, it's less likely people will reschedule.

@kurumu
This is true. I was able to send an expedite request and it was approved within the day. New interview was scheduled for a month before the original one. This is a benefit that we Japan filers get it seems!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
