Hi Martin and Megan, congrats on your interview date. Mine isn't far off. I was wondering if you had to pay a K1 visa fee before going to the consulate at Montreal and if so, how did you do it? I can't seem to figure it out. Your info is much appreciated. Thanks. Best wishes. Suresh VK.

Once your case goes into transit, the consulate in Montreal will email or mail you a packet. You submit that packet via email to the consulate, and they will schedule you an interview date. Once they schedule your interview, they will send you an email with a link and you follow the directions of that link which will allow you to pay the fee.

I registered my appointment by going to the link site and it let me select my courier location. But don't recall seeing any payment section or process. When I log in, all it gives is my appointment information and courier location and no option make payment.

Weird, there should be a link to allow you to create an account and then pay for the appointment. The consulate has to send you the appointment date before you can pay for it. There’s a FB page for Montreal K1 visa cases and this seems to be something happening lately, so I would try joining that group and asking others what they did in order to pay the fee :)

Was your AOS interview in Chicago, IL field office?
Svklt on 2022-09-19 said:
My field office is Seattle. I haven't had my AOS interview yet. Believe it is a very loooong wait for Seattle.

I’m in DFW, and my interview was waived.

Oh wow. That's great. Congratulations! That's a big deal.
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
