Hey! I am also in Japan and I saw you submitted your I-129F back in April last year... you still haven't gotten your NOA2 ?

Hi! Yes we haven’t got any update. It seems they are still working on Feb 2021. Not so much April 2021 filer got NOA2.

That is so devastating for you. Crossing my fingers for you that it is resolved quickly.

Hi, my wife is also Japanese and it looks like we have similar time lines. Have you received approval for your i485 yet?

No we haven’t 😢

We got ours approved already. I was shocked at how quick we got it. I asked to rush the advanced parole so we could go back and visit Japan, they did it and we got it. Then like 2 weeks later the green card got approved. The expedite request might have put it to the top of a pile. It also got transferred to Reno. They might not have been as busy which could have helped it happen so fast. I would try an expedite request to see.

Wow! I knew expediting is a pretty strong way to push the status but we thought we are not the case. (I want to work and drive but there should be more desperate people than me. ) Do we need to tell them the reason of doing expedite? What did you choose as a reason?

We have to go back to Japan in August for a one year anniversary of a death in the family. We used that, and even though the Advanced Parole was supposed to arrive in July, we wanted it early so we could get plane tickets cheaper. We got approved in a couple weeks.
