Comments : Medical check was fast and easy. I was told by the dr. that medical results of CR-1 and IR-1 visas are submitted directly to the embassy system, so I was not handed any kind of envelope or paper, but I did get an email from the doctor a week later saying that I passed the medical check. He attached some medical results and other personal information sheets. Also, I was attended by a different dr (different than the one shown at the embassy information, but at the same medical center of course) that is also certified with the embassy to do this procedure. Be sure to contact Carolina Diaz (the person that schedules appointments: citamedicauschile@gmail.com)

I highly recommend to figure what vaccines you are missing before hand with an immunologist (this is what I did) and get them earlier. Be wary that "Trivirica" vaccine (as called in Chile, for measles and more), is a government vaccine and it's a little tricky to get. You need a medical order and whoever applies the vaccine to you, has to file a form answering government questions.

This makes the medical check so easy and quick. All I had to do was get the blood test and x-ray scan that same day.

Got RFE at interview. Sent documentation through mail Jan.12th 2023. Case shown as "Issued" Jan. 30th 2023 in CEAC visa status check and received an email saying the documents will be ready to be retrieved in 2 days.

Estimates/Stats :
Your I-130 was approved in 330 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 566 days from your I-130 NOA1 date.

Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : Miami
POE Date : 2023-02-22
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : No
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : They took us to another room and interviewed us. They asked basic questions (where are you staying, are you married to each other). The waiting was longer than the interview. They were not very friendly but didn’t harass. One last note, I asked them about the SSN card (when do I get it mailed) and they couldn’t answer because they said they didn’t know.

Anyway, I was lucky and got the SSN card in less than 7 days

Greencard received approximately by the beginning of september 2023. Greencard took around 6 months to arrive. USCIS had to take my biometrics again (finger print and another picture), and they only issued this biometrics appointment because I kept asking to a live agent about the delay of my greencard. This new biometrics appointment happened by the end of june.

Embassy Review : My appointment was at 9 am, but I arrived at 8:10 am just to be safe. I was admitted earlier by security at 8:30 am. There are lockers available in case if you don't have anyone to hold your things outside of the embassy (cellphone, wallet, ect).

The building is big and you have to cross the big patio in the middle. There were at least 3 people before me.

So, in the first part, my number was called and I went to a window (just like a bank) where I was ask to hand certain documentation (a photo of the USC ID passport page, tax documentation, civil documentation, an updated criminal record, US domicile evidence, and more (forgot everything but has to be down to that).

The second part wasn't very pleasant. I was called by the Consular Officer, where she already was angry (yeah, I'm not exaggerating). She started the conversation saying that my case was lacking documents regarding US domicile proof, and that she didn't see where the petitioner's tax documents were. I spoke in english and she told me I had to speak spanish (very rudely. . .I'd never imagine I was gonna be told to speak spanish. If anything, I'd expect to be told to speak in english, right?. So, I explained that I did actually hand them to the first person that received my documents, and she found it. Same story with the US domicile proof, she didn't find the bank statement, but wasn't enough for her.

Finally, she gave me a paper listing the documentation needed to proceed with the visa (in other words, RFE for lack of proof of US domicile). She suggested "Job offers, rental lease, voting register, ect".

Overall good and easy process, but the negative side would be the anger of the official. I understand and agree, looking back, that we needed to show more documents in that matter, but doesn't give her the right to treat anyone like that. I felt the anger and irony.

Hello Maiten, you're welcome! I'm glad it's helpful. So, I have a post where I list everything: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/793877-aditional-proof-of-us-domicile-rfe-at-interview/#comments that worked out and got us accepted without trouble. Wish you success!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
